Rated 3 out of 5 by Works great but handle gently to prevent ripping the mask. Positive- The mask works great for restricting air intake. It is comfortable to wear. Negative- Be very careful when cleaning the mask. The material is very soft and can easily be ripped. The third time I wore and cleaned the mask I bent the very soft flexible edge around the nose piece to drain the water out. When I did this the mask ripped. I exchanged the mask at Dick's with no probelems. However, for $80 the mask should have been a lot more durable. The mask is overpriced in my opinion. I think $40-$50 price range would be fair. The company knows that their compition is limited so they can get away with a high price. January 26, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great. I'm getting real tired of people giving this one star and talking bad about it because soandso said "well uhhh it doesn't work so derp derp" even though they never tried it. The mask does not simulate training (I personally would have called the mask something else) at a higher elevation however the mask does work to increase athletic performance by forcing your body to better utilize oxygen. As your body adapts to less and less oxygen, your performance without the mask increases. To the doubters of this product, I challenge you to exercise for 2 weeks while restricting your breathing (can be done by wearing a ski mask, balaclava, etc) and then seeing what type of performance gains you got after that 2 week period. The less oxygen you're taking in and the harder you have to work for it, the better your body will adapt. I knocked off 1 star because the sizing chart of off. I'll be exchanging mine for a large because the medium is just way too tight and it crushes the bridge of my nose. February 24, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Worth a try if you are in a workout slump or plateau I have used this while on the treadmill and noticed my ability to run when I am not using it has become easier. I am only on the 9,000 ft Elevation setting but I am sure I will max out at some point as I like to continually challenge myself. This CANNOT replicate the thin air as experienced with high altitude training however IT CAN replicate how your lungs have to work harder for more oxygen. I hit a plateau in my training and found this to help add a challenge and cause me to work harder to break through my static results. As far as fit it is wise to go by the weight suggestions for size. I am 210 lbs. but have a larger head so I originally went one size up but had to return it for the size they recommended. Rated 5 out of 5 by Specialized Training at The Next Level!! This product is definitely something special! As soon as I saw the Elevation Training Mask 2.0 in the store, read its benefits, it was ordered the very next day. As a trial period to become acclimated to breathing normally with the ETM on, I would recommend wearing a few days around the house performing normal activities before any type of training takes place; as I did. When your body feels it is time to remove the ETM that is when you should leave it on during your training. Otherwise you lose the benefits of wearing the product; KEEP CALM and CONTROL YOUR BREATHING. The ETM is a little uncomfortable to wear around the bridge of the nasal cavity (something you may or may not become accustomed to). The ETM will tend to slide down the back of the head depending on how rigorous your training activity is although there is a Velcro strap included to counteract those effects. As far as pricing, $80 is a little high for this product in my opinion. I believe $60 - $65 is spot on. Overall, a very useful piece of equipment that can be utilized in various environments. Rated 5 out of 5 by master your breathing I bought the elevation training mask to improve my cardio for Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and its has really helped me get the most out of each breath. this mask will help you improve your breathing through your diaphragm, control your breathing, and teach you to stay calm. I've ran and lifted weights with no problem while wearing this mask. the real challenge is explosive movements like bur-pees, bear crawls, squat jumps, tire flips, battle ropes, ect. I love training with this mask and can feel the difference after only a couple weeks of training with the elevation mask. March 31, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Cant blame mask. I gotten 3 masks. First one at store had the wrong size mask inside box. Second and third I got through the mail. Second one was missing a flux valve. Third had two posts bent. Plus all 3 were missing the DVD it states comes in the box. The mask is a great idea. Just not getting product the way its being sold. Out of two masks I made one work. I been using it for a week now. I notice my lungs opening up. May 14, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Almost a 5 star product The training mask has, in a week exceeded expectations. It gives me a more thorough work out in a shorter amount of time and has significantly improved lung capacity. HOWEVER, the price tag on this puts it just short of a full five stars as paying this much for a mask is off putting to people who are just getting into or comfortable in their training. Overall, thumbs up. May 30, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great product I have had this for a few weeks now. It's a good product that helps a great amount. The accessibility of changing the altitude you are training at in the matter of seconds is great. Work your way up and do simple excercises first. Great product that I will use for a long time January 19, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by elevation mask I bought this for my husband. This mask definitely has helped with his cardio. As well as his breathing. I will be purchasing one for myself to work out with him. January 7, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Loving the challenge I saw some guys at the gym using masks, and did some research to see what it was all about. After reading about the benefits, I decided to give it a try. Con: I look like a dork. But it's much better than the old gas mask fartlek runs! Pros: It's kicking my butt when I lift. I had no problem running with it on, but I thought I was going to pass out the first time I used it while lifting. I'm already experiencing the benefits from running. I don't have to worry about the annoying lip curl I end up doing, when I work on my lateral shoulder raises. Trust me, it's not pretty! I'm a musician by trade, and I have been utilizing diaphragmatic breathing for years. I had no idea how much I was discounting my breathing until I started using this. I'm training for a 50 miler right now, and I cannot wait to experience the results on race day! I'm very happy that I made the purchase. April 14, 2015
