Ugly stik rods are always a good choice. They are strong and take a lot of abuse.

Great rod but they stopped making the cork handles?!?. The foam feels really cheap and does a dis-service to the rest of the rod.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Bturf Nice upgrade to a classic
Everyone knows the beating the old ugly sticks can take. I have battered a few and still have them handy amongst much higher end rods. The GX2 has some nice upgrades to overall function with a mix of graphite and fiberglass as well as a good look. I got the 7'0 medium paired with a abu garcia silver max for general casting applications. Excited to see how it holds up to a summer of fishing, and hope it does last like the previous models.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Hop Good fishing pole
I've always been a fan of Ugly Stiks because of their cost and durability. I typically go fishing with my kids so I tend to use poles that are good but don't cost an arm and a leg. Kids can accidentally step on them, etc. If you like the old Ulgy Stiks you'll like the new ones more. A little lighter and better balanced, just like they claim. It still has the flexible tip which I really like because it helps you cast those smaller lures if need be. You won't be disappointed with this pole.

Rated 4 out of 5 by ajoynes96 very nicely made
this new ugly stick feels very nice when im holding it, it has a nice whip to it for a nice walking the frog type of retrieve, very sensitive to the point where you can feel exactly where you are on the bottom of the pond or lake wherever you are fishing.
