Rated 4 out of 5 by husterk Excellent rack for the money! This is a solid full rack that doesn't wobble or move when working with heavy weights or doing pull ups. The addition of the weight storage racks is an added bonus at this price range. The rack is made from decent metal (probably 14-16 gauge) but this is not a heavy duty 11-gauge rack like a Rogue rack. A couple of things keep this from being a 5 star item... First, the center mounted pull up bar is too close to the front fat pull bar which can lead to banging your head if you aren't careful. Also, the rear cross member (on the floor) makes it difficult, but not impossible, to place the associated Fitness Gear Pro Bench back far enough to execute incline / military press. One of the uprights on mine has a scratch on it due to lack of packaging material between the uprights. However, it was easily filled in with some white paint. A couple of things to be aware of... Fitness Gear is Dick's house brand and Dick's does not sell parts for this item (i.e. you can't purchase extra j-hooks or other accessories). However, I believe this is a standard 3x3 rack so other brand's 3x3 accessories should fit it. Also, you will receive a note in the packaging that states to call a toll-free number for missing / defective parts. However, the support person will tell you to take the part to a local Dick's store. They will then swap the defective part / give you the missing part at the store (be sure to bring your manual with you since it has the product serial number in it and call ahead to make sure that they have the part available). Rated 5 out of 5 by Chase windham Amazing RACK! When I'm shrugging heavy weight and drop it inside the cage it barely even moves good strong sturdy rack even on carpet. Endless workouts on it I would recomend this to anyone looking for a safe rack to workout bye yourself. GET SWOLL January 18, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Jason75 Fitness Gear Power Rack Fitness Gear was able to fix the rigidity issues on earlier models. However, they moved the pull-up bar to the center of the power rack and added a reinforcing bar in the front of the power rack. This reinforcing bar is too close to the pull-up bar, causing one's head to bump the reinforcing bar. I actually removed the reinforcing bar completely and noted no change in rigidity. If Fitness Gear wanted to enhance this product even further, they could move the pull-up bar back to the front of the rack and move the reinforcing bar to the center where it is out of the way. Additionally, the addition of the weight racks on either side of the tower are a nice touch. If you are using 45-lb plates on the bar, they will bump the tray located at the top of the weight rack. The only way to prevent this is to move further down the bench away from the weight rack. This makes it more challenging to get the weight on and off the rack. October 16, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by tehSQUATCH85 It eliminates the FEAR OF DEATH when lifting alot of weight!!! Superior equipment, very solid construction, doesn't look cheap, flimsy, and has a good paint job to boot! The racks for the weights comes included and it's good for organizing my plates rather than have them thrown around the house. buy it, start lifting, stop procrastinating, and one more thing... if ordering online, give the UPS man a soda/bottle of water! this thing weighs a ton. Rated 5 out of 5 by TimboSlice Solid Equipment I did my own research on power racks for months before I purchased this one. I'm very satisfied with the quality of this power rack. Putting it together was very easy and the instructions were simple. I'm a 255lb guy that has to "kip" when I do my pull-ups and this thing doesn't move or show any sign of weakness. Great piece of equipment! November 4, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by rjbruns What I expected Assembly was easy with just one person (the manual recommends two). It's important not to tighten the nuts right away and then not to OVER tighten them at the end or the metal will kink. I set the full rack on some general purpose gym mats and it is very stable and solid. November 5, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Dan Great Product I bought this piece to use the gym I own while we are expanding and under construction. I was worried about the quality and if it could hold up against my clients. I am blown away that this rack fits right in with my commercial equipment and people do not even realize it. I had just bought it as a temporary fix while under construction but I think I am going to keep this along side my commercial equipment. Great price, quality, and durability. I also got the half rack because I was so impressed. November 13, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Tc Great Piece of Equipment Does everything you need for a full rack/cage. Sturdy and stable. One person can assemble but much easier with two. Caution: Watch your head when doing pull/chin-ups, you may hit your head on the support beam. Also, there are dip bars available: Fitness Gear Pro Dip Bars (just look on Dick's website, $29.99). Rated 5 out of 5 by dirte58 GREAT RACK I love the pull up station in this, and the attached plate holders is awesome, i love the shelving on the racks also great place to keep chalk and bar pad, my only problem is that it has an awesome paint job. if you use steel plates it scratches bad, only meant to hold rubber plates. it assembles very easily!!! Rated 5 out of 5 by Alex Great, sturdy power rack I have been looking at power racks all over the internet for the past year and I finally settled on this one. I bought this rack in store yesterday and I suggest you find someone with a truck or a big suv because it comes in 2 fairly large/long boxes. I set the rack up by myself which wasn't too hard, until I got to the top pieces, where I suggest having two people! In total, it took about 2-2/12 hrs to set up. The only tools you need are an 11/16 ratchet and a crescent wrench. Once together, this thing is very sturdy and does not wiggle; even doing muscle ups on the front pull up bar. The only con I have is the middle pull up bar is a little close to the front bar. If you are not paying attention you could hit your head. Other than that, this rack is a great buy for the money and I am very pleased with it! April 27, 2014
