Shimano Chronarch CI4+ Baitcasting Reels 5 5 2 2
Nice Reel I had one of the original Chronarch's which needed new bearings and has been used a lot, the recent Chronarch's seem to be a step backwards for Shimano, this C14+ is equal to the old one I have which had been a great reel. I have only used it on two quick occasions while in Florida recently where I purchased it. February 19, 2014
Fantastic reel The Curado/Chronarch 200E reels are great reels. This new Chronarch is definitely a step ahead of them. It casts so effortlessly and even a bit farther than those reels. It is very smooth on the cast and the retrieve. The Ci4+ material seems sturdy but only time will tell if it holds up. I don't see that being a problem at all, though. Shimano is a quality company at this price point I'm sure they've done their fare share of testing and development. If you're looking for a reel that is a bit more refined than the 200E series but don't want to shell out $300+, I can't recommend the Chronarch CI4+ enough. Oh, the braking system is also really nice and the fine adjustment dial on the outside is nice. I've set the inside brakes with 2 on and the dial's range is very useable and helpful. Just talking about it makes me wish it wasn't so cold outside! October 26, 2013
