TaylorMade SpeedBlade Irons - (Steel) 4-AW 4.7 5 32 32
Glad I bought these- they're Long! I had my heart set on the Callaway X2-Hot iron set, but after three separate trips to Dick's to test out irons, the Speed Blades were the clear winner for me. I made the leap and have been very happy since. I have 9 full rounds in with the Speed Blades and they're 1-1.5 clubs longer than my old Cleveland TA-5's. (not exaggerating#. On my 8th round, I tied my all time low score for 18 holes. It's been 20 years since the last time I shot that good. These clubs are long, but to be fair, my buddy just got a new set of Ping G30's. They are just as long in my opinion. The big difference I noticed is that the Pings have more offset. The Speed Blades, especially the short irons are #like their name says# more "blade-like", which is what I was looking for. During my last round #45 degrees, light wind), I really expected to be a club shorter, but to my surprise, I kept the same great distance. The coolest part is that I'm starting to actually get my approach shots closer, because I can take a 3/4 swing and still keep the same distance, only more accurate. I highly recommend these irons and plan to keep mine for a long time to come. November 27, 2014
Long!!! Just bought the 4-AW with KBS Tour (stiff) shaft. The 7 was carrying 180 consistently on the simulator which is insane to me. My Burner 2.0 was 165. Granted that was a regular shaft. This set is unbelievable. Go to Dicks and hit them, you won't regret it. Keep in mind that Taylomade shafts are a little more on the whippey side when compared to other companies which is why I went to stiff. It's really a great iron, I promise you won't be disappointed! Great Club as advertised!!!!!!!!!!! I purchased the Speed Blades, 4 thru AW with regular flex steel shafts. It took a few rounds to get used to the clubs, but once that happened I found myself getting about 10 to 15 more yards per club. I realize that a lot of that is due to stronger lofts but height is about the same as with my previous set. Would strongly recommend. Senior golfer, 71 years of age. July 3, 2014
Speedblades I played with my new clubs (speedblades) and did not like the feel or the way they hit. Returned them to the store and got another Taylormade iron set (Rockdtballz). Played five rounds with new clubs and I love them scores have improved very much, the feel of these clubs is tremendous.. June 30, 2014
Awesome! Recently purchased the Speedblade Irons (4-AW) after an extensive search and evaluation of all the new irons available for 2014. Many fine products out there with great technology, but Taylormade hit it our of the park with the new Speedblades. The clubs are pleasing to the eye, set up beautifully and produce great distance, feel and control. Have only played two rounds with these so far, but have been very pleased with the results. I'm confident my scores will continue to improve. Great job of fitting by the Golf Pro at Dick's! June 16, 2014
Looking Forward I am happy with what I have seen so far. The feel of the clubs are great. I need some more time to get used to distance. June 10, 2014
Forgiving! I have had two rounds with these clubs moving from the Mizunos MP-67 blades. I would have bought the Taylor Made Tour model if they weren't $400 more. I hit these just fine in the simulator. They are much longer than my Mizunos for obvious reasons. I would recommend these as a mid-range improvement club. June 5, 2014
Nothing to Look at They are not good looking clubs. They are thick and dull looking. Don't really like the finish. After one week they looked used. Their average, performance wise, they don't hit as advertised, however they are a little more forgiving then my last set. They have not delivered all the hype that was advertised about them. May 29, 2014
Great distance and feel These are the best irons period. Easy to hit, great looking, and crazy distance May 28, 2014
Great set of irons I just upgraded from the cobra amp cells to these speedblades. All I got to say is wow what a difference. The taylormade defiantly has a higher flight and longer. Not only that my accuracy improved as well. I got fitted for these I'm 6'1 and end up with stock stiff shaft and lie right off the shelf. May 25, 2014
