Best boot I found!!! After Searching for weeks for the "perfect" pair of boots I decided on these and couldn't be happier. They have everything I was wanting in a boot; waterproof, insulated, oil resistant, midcalf height, leather, and under $100. I have owned these boots for about 3 months and have spent many hours walking in 6-8" snow in subzero temperatures and my feet have NEVER got cold. February 16, 2014
Good Boot but needs better midsole and a better price-to-quality ratio Pros: I have had these boots for 3 1/2 yrs* now- I take very good care of my boots. I believe this is a good boot, combining gore-tex breathability, a vibram sole, and speed laces (very important for ease of use)- all combined in an 8" design at a reasonable price...However,The part in between the sole and the leather(i believe it is called the midsole) is the only thing that would keep these boots from lasting 10 years or more. A year and a half/two years in, it started to disintegrate(light to very moderate, mostly casual dress use). I was very disappointed in this as it compromised the waterproof-ness, and my feet started getting wet. *I since used them solely for casual, non-work outings, and have had limited use of them. I would like to see Dick's Sporting Goods find a better midsole(or whatever the part is called) and change the manufacturing away from china. I paid $55(sale) for these at the Deptford,NJ store. I would be willing to pay $70-$85 if they fixed the midsole issue and kept the mfg in the US(and a spare pair of laces couldnt hurt, either). If they did that and kept the price under $85, I believe they would be able to capture a larger share of the market compared to other Made in USA brands that are charging $100-200 per boot. All that said, I do plan on buying these again if they are on sale in the $60 range(most likely in store). The online price of $99 is not worth it considering that it was made in china. If I am going to spend $100 on a pair of boots, I will buy them from LL bean- Made in America.Hope this helps January 25, 2014
