Rated 3 out of 5 by Terrally For this price, it should have an aluminum frame. The bike is heavy. The paint scratches off the frame easily. The bike is very sturdy, which is good. The Shimono shifters and deraileur are awesome. The grip shift on the right has numbers, which is helpful for the kids to see without looking down. The front do you really are grip shift does not indicate which position it is then, which is not good. The bike was assembled well, but the nuts, bolts and fasteners were not tight enough to keep them from slipping. The handlebars rolled upside down because they were not tight. The sales rep, Rachel, was very personable and professional. She made the transaction very smooth.I would recommend this bike, but the price is too high for the frame. If the paint did not come off so easily on this steel frame, I probably would not be as disappointed. April 15, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Dcarnes72 Gears don't shift! Bought in March of 2013 for my daughter who only occasionally erode it. In April 2014 I was doing some maintenance on it, getting it ready for her to ride. I noticed that the gears were very hard to shift. When I asked my daughter about the problem, she responded, "that's why I don't shift gears dad". While searching the web for a possible solution, I came across several people complaining of the same problem. After having the bike for 13 months I don't expect Dicks will help solve the problem, but I'm going to take it back and see what alternatives I'm offered, if any. April 8, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Carol717 Diamondback bike I purchased a Diamondback bike several years ago from your Bel Air, Md. store for my older grandson. It seems to be well made and reliable. I just purchased 2 more in November - one for a granddaughter and one for a grandson - same store location and from a great sales associate who was very knowledgeable (Keith). November 30, 2013
