Rated 4.5 out of 5 by 4 reviewers.
Rated 4 out of 5 by Works great This watch does exactly what it's supposed to do. The full-color display is slick and you can change the colors. The backlight feature is very bright is lasts approx 8 secs which is great for night runs! The watch holds its charge for quite a long time, so it could be all day as a sports watch. My only criticism is the band; it seems a little short in length. I have large, thick wrists so I can to fasten near the very end of the band. Maybe it'll stretch out a little or be replaced if need be. Overall, I'm very pleased with this product. February 27, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by A Great Purchase I upgraded from the Nike+ GPS watch to Garmin 220. The Nike+ watch was nice, but this is actually a couple levels higher. It took a small bit to get accustomed to as far as the user interface and the features. The second time used I felt like a pro. The GPS syncs to satellites in a very short moment, even with the thick cloudy skies here in Western NY state. So far I have used the watch for both running and cross-country skiing. The watch may look a bit bulky, but is lightweight and is comfortable. Starting and ending a session is a breeze. The watch seems to get around 8 hours of session time and takes a small bit to charge. It is very easy to read outside; the character font size is good - reading indoors is a bit different. I have smaller wrists, so the watch was just right and there were a couple notches remaining where those with larger wrists may possibly have a notch to spare to keep fastened to the wrist. Once one has created an account with the Garmin Connect site you will be able to upload the information. There is an application for iPod Touch/phone and other phones or you can use the convenient wired connection for charging the watch. I prefer the connector to the watch. Once at the website you can name and modify the activity, so if you walked, rode a bicycle or cross-country skied you can make that change ~ something the Nike+ site did not offer. In addition, the session can be listed as recreational, training, race or other selections. Nice thought put into what activities people use the watch. I purchased this watch at Dick's SG and they did not have the version with the heart rate monitor on the shelf, but that is something I can acquire in the future. It is something I am curious about and will probably buy in a couple months. This watch has all I need and it keeps things nice and simple without going overboard on features. Should you be a person who keeps things simple, but want a method to monitor your progress then this is a very nice GPS watch. I am the guy (4.5 decades in age) who just started participating in half marathons and just runs for fun to stay healthy & fit. Should you be a more intense and competitive athlete and demand more functions and features then the Garmin 620 is a better option. The 620 really is a sexy GPS watch, but my limits and time exercising are that of the Garmin 220. So far I really have enjoyed the purchase of this GPS watch. February 15, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Amazing watch! This watch does everything I want and then some!!! In love with the Garmin January 25, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good watch, wonky application I love the watch. It's light, fits a small wrist well, and is easy to use. What I don't like are the applications used to upload the data to the Garmin website. The mobile app does not yet support this watch for an Android phone (but it does for the iPhone) and the PC app does not always work on every computer. To get my data online, I have had to use the mobile app on my iPad (via bluetooth) or my husband's computer which seems to work every time (we are both running Windows 7 64-bit). January 2, 2014
