Rated 5 out of 5 by Very nice bike! We found this bike on-line with a special price of $250.00 off. The staff at the store in West Des Moines was very helpful to order the bike online for us. The bike was delivered very timely to our home, and the bike staff at the store quickly put the bike together for us within 2 days. This is a very nice road bike that is light weight with smooth operating gears. Thank you to Dick's Sporting Goods team members in the bike department. They were very friendly and helpful. Rated 5 out of 5 by Good Fast Bike I bought two of these bikes. I have put 300+ miles and my g/f about 200 miles on these bikes in the past month. There have only been normal issues of the bike breaking in, such as cables stretching. The bike is very responsive to input. It is able to take tight turns and remain stable. Even though this bike is an 8 speed, the max gear ratio is 50T/11T. So this bike is as fast as the person is capable of riding it. I have pushed it up to 24 mph on a flat road with regular shoes. Bike cleats were a big upgrade to this bike, as it would be for any bike. I replaced the seat and pedals. The handle bars are comfortable without gloves. My advise is to buy this bike because the controls are the same as the more expensive bikes. If you are enjoying the ride, upgrade the parts over time, or save up and buy a more expensive bike. This bike is a solid purchase. June 14, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by very nice ride This is a nice bike. I've put around 20 miles on it so far. I haven't run into any issues with it. The store I bought this from is amazing. The store Mgr and guy that put together bike are very knowledgeable and helpful. June 11, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by good road bike to start Recently I decided to jump to the road bikes, I used to be with an hybrid and was looking for something not so expensive but also good enough, I went to some bike stores but are more especialized and the cheapest u can get it about 1k, so its bit much if u are starting, so I found this one by accident and I really liked it, is very lightweight and it comes with shimano claris set , which is not bad. I definitely recommend this one for starters like me. The only thing I would change are the breaks. June 10, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Nishiki road bike The sales person that worked with me was very informative on the product. two days after buying the bike I rode a 65 mile ride and the folowing day a 40 and 30 miler. It was a great bike . May 28, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good 24-speed bike Seems like a well-balanced, durable road bike. Shifting for me was fine. Just some minor issues -- brakes are not center-pull, and could, in my opinion, be a bit heftier. Also, brake or shifting cables run under the handlebar tape, making it impossible to use the handlebar "deck space" for accessories without possibly crushing the cable. I did put a bike speedometer/computer at the center of the handlebars without this problem. I did a Wikipedia search on Nishiki bikes; Dick's apparently bought the rights to put the Nishiki name on bikes that they make in China. If you like more padding on a bike seat, Dick's sells a Nishiki gel seat cover that fits the seat precisely for about $20. Dick's also has a silver kickstand available (the bike doesn't come with one). Dick's also sells Slime innertubes for the 700 tires on this bike; a good investment! Overall, a good to great bike!
