Rated 4 out of 5 by Upstate Tom Still a great shoe, but not as good as previous versions.
This is still a good shoe, and I went to great lengths to get them. They were not in stock. I really liked the older 2100 and 2170 versions The support and cushioning is very similar to the older models. That is to say that is very good, especially on a treadmill. Construction is very nice, and I am sure the materials will last a good amount of time. There are some things that I was a little disappointed in with this version.
First, the images are a bit misleading. The shoe is darker in color, and there are no bright orange accents on the sole. I would have preferred it true to the pictures. I actually asked the store worker to get the one in this color, and she told me I was holding it. There is only one other option, blue.
The fit on these is different than previous versions. I get the 4E version because I like the wide toe box. The 4E in this version is more like the 2E in older versions. Also, the whole fit is narrower and less generous on the top of the arch area. It is a tighter fit all around. That's fine under high activity, but not as comfortable for every day wear as the old versions.
Others have noted the laces being too short. I am consistent with this. They are about 6-8" too short.
I may look at other models next time to get a more generous fit with the same stability.
