Great little light!! This is the second Byte Ive bought, Not b/c I had issues but b/c I liked it so much. This is the newest version of the Byte with the battery lock out switch. My only issue I had with the first Byte I bought was that it did suffer from battery drain when left in the head lamp. This switch eliminates that. High is 50 lumens and that is bright enough for just about anything you may need to do. Hiking, camping, running at night, or I like to keep in my glove box when I need to work on the car. And runs on Lithium Ion batteries which is great for colder weather. I gave the old one to my brother. and found the weaker 35 lumen Bytes that come in different colors at a different store on clearance and bought some for my niece and nephews. Brother really liked it. uses it for work around the house. The way its swivels for up and down is very secure and easy to manipulate. Head strap is comfortable and secure. November 19, 2014
Don't but From the beginning this thing has not worked. The red light goes from bright to dim. Friends had an Energizer and the white beam was much brighter than mine. In short, look elsewhere for a headlamp. November 18, 2014
Affordable....does the job for the money I wore this on a run in the dark the other day, and it worked great! I was able to see 20 or more feet in front of me and enjoyed the advanced visibility in areas where I had to run on the shoulder against traffic. The one downside, I wish you could truly aim the beam. While I could see a ways out, I also needed to see where my next immediate steps where going to fall. Unless I really moved my head downward (which one doesn't want to be doing when running and paying attention to traffic), I had a hard time seeing the next two very important feet directly in front of me. Small and Convenient I bought this headlamp for backpacking, and took it out for the first time this past weekend. It's nice and small to pack away. I like that it only takes two AAA batteries, and it comes with the batteries. I also really liked the red LED light, as it lets you get a little bit of help looking around camp in the dark, without shrinking your pupils too much to see anything after you turn the light out. Bright and easy to use. This was very easy to use and bright. I recommend it! October 28, 2014
Works great Works great and easy to use. The light it puts out is bright. October 28, 2014
small, light & bright it has decent lumens and the price was $19.99 so not bad...we actually have 2, 1 is about 2yrs old and still works the same as the new one.like that they run on AAA those are easier to replace than the button cell. The strap is soft for head use and the red light comes in more handy than you'd think. October 23, 2014
Just one big problem Small and bright, this headlamp is a good but except for deer hunters. I bought this light for just that, hunting. Here's the problem, I bought it for the red bulb, which is not super bright but works. The issue is that you can't turn the red light on and off without turning on the much brighter white light. This makes it useless in my opinion for hunting. You'll just scare game away. October 15, 2014
Great! This headlamp was light and extremely functional. Took me through a six mile run in the middle of the night through the Adirondack State Park safely! October 2, 2014
Flops around a bit. I bought this for running early in the morning. It took a couple tries to get it adjusted correctly and I have to wear it on my hat instead of my bare forward. Otherwise it rubs. Good value for the price. Next time I will pay a bit more for a brighter light. September 30, 2014
