Rated 4 out of 5 by Great little light!! This is the second Byte Ive bought, Not b/c I had issues but b/c I liked it so much. This is the newest version of the Byte with the battery lock out switch. My only issue I had with the first Byte I bought was that it did suffer from battery drain when left in the head lamp. This switch eliminates that. High is 50 lumens and that is bright enough for just about anything you may need to do. Hiking, camping, running at night, or I like to keep in my glove box when I need to work on the car. And runs on Lithium Ion batteries which is great for colder weather. I gave the old one to my brother. and found the weaker 35 lumen Bytes that come in different colors at a different store on clearance and bought some for my niece and nephews. Brother really liked it. uses it for work around the house. The way its swivels for up and down is very secure and easy to manipulate. Head strap is comfortable and secure. November 19, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Don't but From the beginning this thing has not worked. The red light goes from bright to dim. Friends had an Energizer and the white beam was much brighter than mine. In short, look elsewhere for a headlamp. November 18, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by BUY THIS If you are training and run in the dark Currently training for the Seattle Rock'n'Roll Marathon in June and my schedule requires that I run in the dark sometimes. I needed to get a headlamp, and this works great! It's light and I feel safer now because cars can see me further away than when I just wear my reflective vest. Also when I'm running in the dark without streetlights, this is perfect. March 12, 2014

Rated 5 out of 5 by pleasantly suprised i own lots of other manufacturer's headlamps. tried this on a it was on sale. operation is through one push button. red led, lower level, then high with consecutive button pushes. you always have to scroll through all the modes. no mode memory. the strap fits my head not too snugly with about 1/2" of adjustment left and i wear a size 7.25 hat. the band is also stretchy enough to fit over a beanie without adjustment. overall i am surprised by the features and the output. only time and use will tell if the single arm support bracket will handle the ups and downs...which i find is a feature utilized a lot on a headlamp. but so far so good. Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Headlamp For the price you can't beat this headlamp! Adjustable elastic band, red light setting, 2 brightness settings, lock switch so the light doesn't actually get turned on during transport in your pack, batteries included and MADE IN THE USA. works great. We have 2 of them and we love them. February 13, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Affordable....does the job for the money I wore this on a run in the dark the other day, and it worked great! I was able to see 20 or more feet in front of me and enjoyed the advanced visibility in areas where I had to run on the shoulder against traffic. The one downside, I wish you could truly aim the beam. While I could see a ways out, I also needed to see where my next immediate steps where going to fall. Unless I really moved my head downward (which one doesn't want to be doing when running and paying attention to traffic), I had a hard time seeing the next two very important feet directly in front of me. Rated 5 out of 5 by Small and Convenient I bought this headlamp for backpacking, and took it out for the first time this past weekend. It's nice and small to pack away. I like that it only takes two AAA batteries, and it comes with the batteries. I also really liked the red LED light, as it lets you get a little bit of help looking around camp in the dark, without shrinking your pupils too much to see anything after you turn the light out.
