Comments about Sonocaddie V300 Golf GPS:
I paid $30 one time for "Birdie" membership and all downloads. GPS will hold 30 courses. Downloads are fast. Highly recommended. Better graphics than SkyCaddie.
Comments about Sonocaddie V300 Golf GPS:
I just received the Sonocaddie V300 and have played 3 rounds with it. The battery still shows over 3/4 battery life left. It was very easy to setup and download courses. I found the distances very accurate. There were a couple of distances that were off, but that was easy to correct during play. I like the feature which lets you add items to the course information. I also like the score card and the shot track feature. The previous review said that the clock was not right and could not be set. You can change the clock and the date in setup. It is GMT time. It reads millitary time, but it is accurate. The big plus is no yearly fee.
Comments about Sonocaddie V300 Golf GPS:
I got one of these for xmas. I've played about 20 rounds with it. The software does not work on Mac and it doesn't appear the software gets updated. The clock can't be adjusted and must come of GPS but the time isn't right. Built in scorecard is great and the stats produced are good. I find the hole layouts are good but missing some of the obstacles and distances. The one time free is great...no need to renew every year. I would recommend this.

It does not advance to the next hole. This does not worry me but may annoy some people.
Comments about Sonocaddie V300 Golf GPS:
I just used the Sonocaddie V300 the day after I received it. The manual is just OK, but the unit is pretty intuitive to set up and use once you get familiar with it. My Skycaddie membership is still active so I played with both and they were in agreement on every hole (only played one course so far). I love the hole layout feature; lets you see all the major features and trouble at a glance; you don't have to scroll through a bunch of weird abbreviations. Also, it is very easy to add features (distance to carry bunkers, distance to hazards, etc.) if they are not already mapped. The scorecard function and shot track are easy to use. One glitch, a par 3 did not have yardages for the green, I e-mailed Sonocaddie so I will see how they respond. The software is also easy to use. Overall I am pleased with the V300 and recommend it.
