Rated 5 out of 5áby excellent beginner kayak Purchased and have only used once on a local lake, but this kayak is very stable and comfortable. great value for the price October 28, 2015

Rated 5 out of 5áby And I thought I knew everything! My brother got one for his birthday from his daughters so naturally he went and bought one for his wife. Then I climbed on board and bought one for me and my fiance. And since I'm the guy you sell 3 magic beans to right away I thought I was a pro after my first day and started looking to move up to better kayaks. I looked at reviews left and right on more expensive models and wasn't too impressed. Then I said what the heck let me just see a review on this kayak I purchased. Unbelievably you got the best reviews out there and what an incredible price. I'm a surfer by nature but I'm starting to get into some fresh water stuff as nobody else in my Clan want to venture into the ocean with me. this gives me the opportunity to spend time with some very boring people lol. And I am having a lot of fun doing it October 21, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5áby Just what we were looking for ! It's nice, light and easy to carry around to launch. Paddles easy and is perfect for a first time entry kayak. October 21, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5áby Great Product at Best Price This kayak is designed to be stable and take any waves without bobbing around. Its roomy, comfortable, and glides nicely through the water. The weight is easily managed by a single person if you have a roof rack. It comes in four popular colors. I priced this Kayak several times across different web and retail providers and in the end my deal got better because the staff st Dick's gave me every possible discount I qualified for and in the end I walked away with a price 20% lower than I expected. That's why I like Dick's. Good product selection and knowledgeable and helpful staff. October 20, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5áby Perfect This kayak is great for beginners! Its semi light weight and really fun! October 16, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5áby My first Kayak ever we got two of this to try them out and we take it to a small channel by the Pinole creek and about 1 mile from the shoreline of the bay ! we have row in boats before but in this kayaks it was easy no issues as our first time. They where easy to carry from our truck to the shoreline about 400 ft . for my son (he is 13 )it was his first time ever getting a paddle by himself so he was happy and not afraid he did really good and wants to go again ! Love the kayaks ! October 15, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5áby Best kayak for the price!! I did a lot of research before purchasing the Trailblazer 100. I was impressed about all the positive reviews: I figured over 400 positive reviews (at the time of this review) can't be wrong! But I was afraid that an entry price kayak might not be the way to go, but I was wrong. This kayak is exactly what I was looking for: it's very stable, very light, seems durable, and looks great (we got 2 yellow ones). We have taken this out to the lakes several times already and we are very happy with the way they handle. I have no doubt in my mind that they will perform well in a slow river as well. We have a small child, who comes kayaking with us and she has plenty of room in the front of the kayak without a problem, and we feel safe and stable even with the added weigh. The seat is okay, but don't expect to be comfortable for several hours. I have been on it about an hour at a time and haven't felt uncomfortable in it, but I suspect that longer trips might require extra padding, but that is true with any entry level kayak. The covered hatch, is not water proof, so don't put anything in there without additional protection. We have waterproofed our cellphones and put them there. There are tutorials online about how to water seal the hatch, but do it at your own risk. It's wasn't a deal breaker for me. I would highly recommend purchasing the kayak in the store, or ordering online and picking it up at a local store because of the price of shipping. I wanted to purchase a purple one for my girlfriend, but the shipping cost was only $5 less than the price of the kayak!!! Needless to say, we opted for a color available at our local store. I can't say how durable this kayak will be, but if we get a couple of years out of them I will be happy. I would highly recommend this kayak for anyone who is starting to get into the sport but don't want to break the bank doing it. Just one piece of advice when choosing a paddle: at the store we were recommended a size paddle by having us hold it upright and choosing the one you can barely fold your fingers over. That didn't work because it takes your whole height into account, when in reality you'll be sitting down while kayaking. The method we chose was based on the size of your torso, which makes more sense, because the length of your legs doesn't matter while sitting in a kayak. Just google "paddle sizing chart" . After exchanging the paddles for the correct size, we enjoyed our kayaks to the max. October 12, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5áby great yak great kayak for the money!! very light!! I recommend for anyone wanting to get on the water!! October 8, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5áby Better than expected! We purchased 2 of these kayaks - one for me and one for my husband. We love them for what we do - scoot all over lakes and slow rivers, fishing, looking at wildlife, and getting exercise. We won't be taking them down any roaring rivers, but they do seem very durable and are certainly responsive to the paddle. All the things we read beforehand that were negatives have not been true for us. The seat cover/pad is fine for my husband and shows no signs of tearing up after 5 uses (I knew I would need more padding, so I bought an extra cushion). The seat back is adjustable forwards and backwards and makes it very comfortable. We read there might be problems with leakage, but we have had absolutely none. We find this model to be quite stable and have even been able, in some cases, to enter and exit more like in a canoe than a traditional kayak (that kayak technique where you place the paddle across the back behind the seat and use it for stability doesn't work - the way that place is formed on this kayak doesn't allow the paddle to be positioned there firmly). We do recommend long paddles - this kayak is wider than some and long paddles (ours are 230 cm, I believe, and could be a little longer) are necessary to not hit the side of the kayak all the time. My only negative comments would be about storage - the hatch is a little hard to get into while in the kayak, but that is probably normal; also, I wish there were more little places, like little loops, to attach 'beaners. There is an indentation in the hull in front of the paddler where small things can be placed, but a little loop of some kind to secure them would be nice. My only other complaint is that my choices of color were limited - we got a green one and a blue one, which are both lovely, but I would love to have had the option of the purple! October 8, 2015
