Excellent kayak for the budget This kayak exceeded my expectations in every way! Value for the money is tops and I reccomend this kayak for anyone getting started! December 7, 2014
Great kayak for the price Very happy with the quality of the kayak and the price. It is a Christmas gift for our 10-year-old son who has developed an interest in kayaking from a summer camp he participated in and we anticipate he will get lots of use out of it. December 3, 2014
Bought 2, then another 2 We have people that visit us in the Fort Myers area of Florida. We bought 2 in October, used them a couple times, and decided we liked them enough, and they were controllable enough, to purchase 2 more for our friends to use. They are light enough for one person to handle, track quite nicely (though my experience is pretty much nil with other kayaks), have quite a bit of storage room, and they look nice...which is important to my wife. A suggestion for newbies like us to the sport. If you plan on it being recreational, don't skimp on the paddles. We were told to hold our hand over our head, and the floor to the finger tip was the right length. We disagree. We are both about 5'10", and we purchased some lightweight, 240cm #almost 8'# paddles. What a difference!! We're really looking forward to exploring some of the fantastic kayaking opportunities in Fort Myers. November 18, 2014
Good Starter Kayak Bought this Kayak in August and have used it about 6 times. The foot peddles could be a little sturdier but there not bad. I like the elastic bands both in the back and in the front. I usually load chairs, bags, sandals, etc through the bands and they hold pretty well. My guess is those elastic bands will be good for a couple of years before they have to be replaced. I wish they had hooks embedded on the top since I'm always bungee cording everything to it. Overall I like the kayak and it's light enough for the average person to lift. The yellow color works great on the water since it's important to me that boaters see me very easily since I kayak up and down the Colorado river a lot. Believe it or not my 10lb dog can stand on the bow while I'm Kayaking with pretty good footing. The seat cushions are kind of cheap and could have been installed with better more durable material however it's not too bad. I recommend putting a small pillow or shoes behind your set to keep you better able to sit upright. Easy to clean, but just keep them off the rocks since the bottom plastic hull easily scratches. So for the price it's a good deal and I really appreciate the very helpful staff member that brought my kayak out of the store to my truck at my local Dick's store in Henderson NV. November 16, 2014
Very stable, wish we bought two Bought this kayak (my first) in August 2014 and have taken it out about ten times. It's very stable and glides through the water very well. It doesn't track as well as the longer narrower (much more expensive# touring kayaks but I feel much steadier on the Trailblazer. We also purchased a Viper from Menard's at the same time and we both like this one better. The only issue I have with this kayak is the small storage #about the size of a lunch box) area but it's big enough for a few small things. October 16, 2014
SO glad we bought these! We bought two of these a few weeks ago and we have had such a great time exploring a large, local reservoir. While we're still trying to master getting *out* of them somewhat gracefully and dryly, they feel remarkably stable when we're on the water. These are our first kayaks, and our paddling skills are improving quickly. I ordered online for pick up in the store, and the staff was great! We're delighted to have found yet another way to enjoy nature photography by now being able to be out on the water. I wish we'd bought these years ago! :-) October 5, 2014
Researched it. Bought it .....kayaking the Intra Coastal out of South Carolina, very maneuverable, lightweight, tracks well for a shorter kayak. comfortable seating, ( I have a lower back injury), I am very happy over all with this purchase. Have seen and used kayaks that cost twice as much and perform half as well. September 21, 2014
Great Kayak I bought a Pelican Trailblazer and the Pelican Pathfinder, I must say the Trailblazer is a far better Kayak than the Pathfinder. I am so disappointed that I didn't buy 2 of the Trailerblazer, it handles so great. Just a better kayak for the price. September 16, 2014
Happy with this purchase! This is my first kayak but a seasoned kayaker did help me with this purchase. This is a great kayak for me for the once a week I will be going. September 10, 2014
Light weight and decent for the money. This kayak does the trick if you want cheap and kayak on calm waters -- lakes, ponds, etc. The rubber, seat portion (that your but sits on) ripped off on two of them after only a few uses. However, you don't need that rubber seat portion anyway. It makes no difference in comfort. Moreover, the storage hatch thing is not water tight like some other ones I see on the market. But if you don't plan on using the storage hatch (which most people don't) then don't worry about it. The positive part about the kayak is it's cheap -- that is, one of the cheapest 10 foot kayaks I see around. Moreover, it's light, which makes it easier to transport. For my basic needs, it was fine.
