Rated 5 out of 5 by First Kayak Amazing first Kayak. I live on the Chesapeake Bay and love fishing with it. True there are better kayaks but not for 199.99 on sale! Good stability in choppy water and glides in smooth water. Over all 4 1/2 stars for quality vs. price. March 12, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great First Kayak I bought 2 of these, one for me and one for my wife. We mostly go out in lakes, but I am outfitting mine to get out on the ocean. So far these have been excellent kayaks. The manufacturer also has wonderful customer service. I didn't properly tie them down one trip and dropped the kayaks on the freeway. A few scuffs and some broken foot pedals. The manufacturer sent me new foot pedals for free. January 23, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by You're buck$$ well spent and stretched far Super impressed with this kayak. The tracking ability and speed was easily obtained with little effort. As a matter of fact if you are not careful you can actually troll your rigging to fast. 3 hours of fishing/paddling and I was comfortable. I also felt comfortable in the means of feeling stable and safe from tipping. If this helps I'm about 6'00" tall and 205 lbs. One thing I highly recommend doing is bungee the carry handles to the elastic tie-downs. My fishing line got tangled around the handle and I thought I was going to break the line. Also as you are paddling the handles will thump the boat making a constant knocking sound. I'm hoping the manufacture will make built in handles in the future. But again look around you won't find a better boat for the money or even close to it. Also the customer service #at least in the Bend Ore. store# that Dick's has is awesome. Customer service still exist folks. June 29, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good fishing platform i have had many times to try out different kayaks and this one is great! This kayak is very light and I can get it on and off the top of the car myself. My only concerns are that there is minimal storage and no dry storage. When I go fishing I bring a whole bunch of stuff: 3 rods and reels, lunch and dinner, tackle box, pfd and a cooler. You can imagine being in this small 10 ft kayak with all of this stuff for about 6-7 hours at a time. Another concern with this kayak is that after about 2 hours of sitting in this seat your back is about dying, when you are actively paddling it is fine but when you want to relax it is not. It is only about 7-8 inches high. Now for the good, this kayak tracks pretty well for a 10ft and it is really stable. In summary this is a good kayak but if you have extra money buy a better kayak. Rated 5 out of 5 by Ok with me My son and his friend each bought a Maverick 100 model, I got the Trailblazer 100. We all went to the lake (Dale Hollow/Kentucky. We all dressed for a swim, but never got the chance. All boats were stable, tracked REAL good and we all were very impressed. $300 got us a really good kayak. We crossed the lake, strong headwinds, no problem. Lots of other boaters wake, we road right through them. I looked at those fancy $1200 fishing kayaks, well I saved 900 and got about the same things. BUY ONE. September 14, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Perfect size This 'yak is the perfect size for portability and transport. Light weight for easy portage and fits inside my Tahoe with the tailgate closed. Very stable platform and big cockpit opening for easy entry and exit. I'm 5'11" and 220 so those factors were very important. Add a 1.5 lb anchor and a forward rod holder makes it ideal. Rated 4 out of 5 by Well worth the $ My gf and I bought our first kayaks from Dick's after renting a couple a couple kayaks and having a blast- we weren't sure if we wanted sit-in or sit-on-top coming in. I bought the 100 Angler because it looked very stable (wide) and for the rod holders; she got the Potomac which is very similar, but no rod holders. For less than $300, I am VERY pleased with this product: Plenty of space for all my stuff, very stable, fast enough, and tracking is ok for the price. We've taken it in several rivers and lakes, it's always a great time. Get dry-bags though cuz there is no water-tight compartment. September 27, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Kayak for the price I purchased this Kayak for my 10 yr old daughter. She can maneuver this kayak around with no problem even with her younger sister siting in front of her. It tracks great and is pretty quick. I purchased online and picked up in the store to use some online discounts. September 4, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great stable kayak Me and a friend both owned a $250 sun dolphin kayak from Walmart, and although they were decent for the price, we decided return them and buy this kayak, since they were on sale and so it was actually cheaper then our sun dolphins. I must say it was a great choice, you sit low on water and the kayak is wide, so it's very stable. The two pole holders are definitely an improvement as well as we mainly use our kayak for fishing. Even if you just use one pole, you can put your net in the other pole holder for easy access. The only downside about this kayak is that it doesn't have drains in the bottom, because the bottom is so thin. The only drain is on the back of the kayak, and in order to get the water out is to lift up the front, and even this does not remove 100% of the water. But we can live with that downside, so overall we're happy about this purchase. May 23, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great fun I have had mine for 2 seasons. I bought it on sale at Dicks didnt want to spend alot of money because I didnt know if I would like it much. I have had a ton of fun I have equipped it with a few things and I love it. Well worth the money, I would recommend it.I have used it in rivers, and lakes, for fishing and fun, as well as duck hunting. March 19, 2015
