Rated 5 out of 5áby Great kayak for the money Well this is hands down one of the best things I have bought this fishing season. I was a little skeptical since you cant return them if you get in water. I got this having never been in a kayak and I really enjoy it. This seems a lot more stable than I originally thought would be. The rod holds work well and I stay dry no issues. Does track fairly good and handles what waves I have encountered with no issues. The only flaw is the little clips that hold the bungee down a few have snapped off. The storage area is a little small and will not block all the water. So if you put something in the storage know it could possibly get wet. Nice and light easy to carry and maneuver on ground or in the water. I am sure for more money you can get better but at this price I will say it was totally worth the money. October 11, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5áby I love my Yak!!! I bought this for a Father's Day Present for myself, and there has not been a weekend that hasn't seen me on the water in my yak. I have filled my freezer with speckled trout and red fish that I caught from my kayak. I find that I have plenty of room for what I need to take, but there is no room for anything extra. I've added a few deck cleats to help with tying off to things when I'm fishing. I take it out in the salt water marsh of South Louisiana, where there is always wind and a tide. The trick is to try to keep the wind in your face or your back. And learn to tack into the wind when it is hitting you from the side. Just trial and error. Most of all, I love all the fish I'm catching. October 9, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5áby Best service ever. The kayak is awesome. The paddle is awesome. The only thing better was the service. This guy was knowledgable, friendly and extremely helpful. The only knock is that I bought it at the end of the summer and all there kayak accessories are away already. Winter is the best time to add mods. Thanks September 15, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5áby Perfect for beginner or for fishing As others have stated, the more balanced platform does lead to some reduction in forward speed and tracking. This kayak is very stable and perfect for 1st timers getting into the sport. I have used it a half dozen times and still enjoy it, but I can tell I will soon be ready for a better tracking (faster) kayak. I will continue to fish from this kayak, however because of the stability. August 17, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5áby Smooth ride This is our second Pelican kayak, they're awesome! Fun and fit a short 5'3 woman or tall 6'3 man equally comfortable. The pole holder's big plus. Highly recommended August 16, 2015

Rated 4 out of 5áby Decent beginner fishing kayak I purchased this to try kayak fishing but also to use as a general purpose kayak. I haven't used it yet for fishing, just for general kayaking. It's not so great at being general purpose, for reasons discussed below. This kayak is very stable with its hull design, much more so than the Pelican 100 regular kayak. The cockpit opening is VERY large, so my legs are exposed all the way down to my ankles. This is good if you want to use the space between your legs to hold a tackle box or other fishing gear, but allows water to splash in very easily if you have waves or any rough water around. If you look at the picture of the top of the kayak, there is a "dashboard" of sorts that can hold some small items, but this area is WITHIN the rib that would hold a skirt on if you wish to use one, meaning that 1, the skirt has to be very large to cover the gigantic cockpit opening, and 2, the dashboard is useless with a skirt on. Also, the kayak interior depth is short ,especially when combined with the hull design which keeps me from being able to have my feet straight up and down when kayaking. I have to have my feet tilted outwards at a 45 degree angle (I have size 11 feet), which puts my knees against and above the edge of the cockpit opening, again interfering with the possible use of a kayak skirt. The plastic seat back is molded to lay back at an angle that is not comfortable for kayaking under effort (against a current), but you can adjust the straps on the material seatback (the strapped material seatback is laid against the front of the plastic molded seatback) to lean you forward to compensate. Time will tell how these straps hold up. When you are leaned all the way back against the plastic molded seatback, you are forced to use your abs to help you row, causing more fatigue than necessary, but it may be more comfortable to fish from that position once you are at your favorite fishing spot. The material on the seat bottom is fairly comfy, although thin, but the first time I used the kayak, the seat bottom material shifted enough that I think it will rip free of the plastic anchors very soon. We'll see how comfortable it is then. All in all, it's a decent beginner fishing kayak, just keep in mind you get what you pay for. July 26, 2015
