Rated 4.6 out of 5 by 55 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Purchase I just bought this kayak yesterday for pond, river, and lake fishing. I am 6'2,240 pounds. This kayak seems to have the room for me as well as my supplies for fishing. I really like the rod holders built in on the back, but i wish there was one infront or on the side of me for trolling(you can purchase them seperately). There is bungies infront for holding my fishing net. There is also space pockets next to the seat on both sides which can fit a fishing box. The storage "hole" on the back comes held down with bungies but is only several inches deep and doesnt hold alot. Overall i would recommend this kayak for anyone trying to save a buck or 2. Rated 4 out of 5 by Nice Starter Kayak Its very stable on the water. Super light and easy to handle. Would have gaving it 5 stars, but back hatch is to shallow to be useful. March 27, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great fun I have had mine for 2 seasons. I bought it on sale at Dicks didnt want to spend alot of money because I didnt know if I would like it much. I have had a ton of fun I have equipped it with a few things and I love it. Well worth the money, I would recommend it.I have used it in rivers, and lakes, for fishing and fun, as well as duck hunting. March 19, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great First Kayak I bought 2 of these, one for me and one for my wife. We mostly go out in lakes, but I am outfitting mine to get out on the ocean. So far these have been excellent kayaks. The manufacturer also has wonderful customer service. I didn't properly tie them down one trip and dropped the kayaks on the freeway. A few scuffs and some broken foot pedals. The manufacturer sent me new foot pedals for free. January 23, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Well worth the $ My gf and I bought our first kayaks from Dick's after renting a couple a couple kayaks and having a blast- we weren't sure if we wanted sit-in or sit-on-top coming in. I bought the 100 Angler because it looked very stable (wide) and for the rod holders; she got the Potomac which is very similar, but no rod holders. For less than $300, I am VERY pleased with this product: Plenty of space for all my stuff, very stable, fast enough, and tracking is ok for the price. We've taken it in several rivers and lakes, it's always a great time. Get dry-bags though cuz there is no water-tight compartment. September 27, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good fishing platform i have had many times to try out different kayaks and this one is great! This kayak is very light and I can get it on and off the top of the car myself. My only concerns are that there is minimal storage and no dry storage. When I go fishing I bring a whole bunch of stuff: 3 rods and reels, lunch and dinner, tackle box, pfd and a cooler. You can imagine being in this small 10 ft kayak with all of this stuff for about 6-7 hours at a time. Another concern with this kayak is that after about 2 hours of sitting in this seat your back is about dying, when you are actively paddling it is fine but when you want to relax it is not. It is only about 7-8 inches high. Now for the good, this kayak tracks pretty well for a 10ft and it is really stable. In summary this is a good kayak but if you have extra money buy a better kayak. Rated 5 out of 5 by Tracks Well for This Amateur Contrary to the website, this Pelican Trailblazer is made in Canada, not China. Meets my need for paddling local lakes. Unlike some I've tried, the hull design promotes forward motion while feeling stable. I am comfortable in the seat for over two hours without added cushions. I bought the Angler model because it is what the store had when I was ready to buy. Note, however, that the two rod holders add $50 to the basic Trailblazer model. If I ever advance to a performance hull, I believe I will stay with Pelican. I found their videos educational for comparing models. September 26, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Ok with me My son and his friend each bought a Maverick 100 model, I got the Trailblazer 100. We all went to the lake (Dale Hollow/Kentucky. We all dressed for a swim, but never got the chance. All boats were stable, tracked REAL good and we all were very impressed. $300 got us a really good kayak. We crossed the lake, strong headwinds, no problem. Lots of other boaters wake, we road right through them. I looked at those fancy $1200 fishing kayaks, well I saved 900 and got about the same things. BUY ONE. September 14, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Nice buy..... This is my 1st kayak, I am 5'10 around 240lbs. it is stable and easy to fish out of, light weight easy to load into a pick-up...I have not been in a river yet , most of the fishing I do is in ponds, great to get into those shallow and hard to get to spots... Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Kayak for the price I purchased this Kayak for my 10 yr old daughter. She can maneuver this kayak around with no problem even with her younger sister siting in front of her. It tracks great and is pretty quick. I purchased online and picked up in the store to use some online discounts. September 4, 2014
