Rated 2 out of 5áby Not So Swifty I purchased the Swifty 9.5 in June and have used it about 10 times. I like the shorter length as it can fit OK in my PU bed. The cockpit access is large for easy in & out. The seat is fairly comfortable. However, I have found that it tracks fairly poor and is very difficult and tiring. At times it feels like this thing is dragging an anchor. I suspect this unit was fat-sized to provide a 325 lb max limit by making it much wider than other models.. I am 6' and weigh 200 lbs and just figured the higher weight rating meant a better kayak. I used it for 1 hr and 20 minutes on my last paddle and I was whipped (and I'm in decent shape). I compared with someone using a rental sit-on kayak and theirs tracked thru the water much easier (but didn't like the flimsy seat). I also have the same situation someone else posted..... as soon as you stop paddling the dang boat rotates 180 degrees. This is bizarre as it doesn't matter which way the wind is blowing or direction you are going on a calm lake. Very strange and annoying. I also tested this against the rented sit on top unit and that boat didn't rotate one bit when paddling stopped. I plan to buy a second kayak for my wife and will not consider another Swifty. I told my wife she can have this one and she said heck no cause she noticed the same problems the few times she went out. I only paid $299 plus used a $15 coupon so I don't have much invested. I'll probably end up selling this one on Craigslist next spring and getting one that tracks better for the recreational user I want one where I can enjoy up to 2 hours of paddling instead of feeling I'm dragging a dropped anchor. . Rated 5 out of 5áby Amazing Deal I am a 14 year old seasoned kayaker, and I got this boat for a great price. It was a very Stable ride. It moves well over rapids, has a roomy cockpit, and the molded dash was helpful. The dry storage kept all of my stuff dry. The paddle holder was amazing if you were porting. My first kayak had NOTHING, but a seat and makeshift cup holder but this had everything I needed and it weighs very little. I am 103 pounds and 5'1" and and this was the best kayak I have ever used. Rated 1 out of 5áby Felt like a cheap toy and didn't track well at all! I have kayaked several times before and have had good experiences with Perception boats. I was looking for a smaller boat to take on lakes and rivers that I could easily carry up three flights of stairs and get onto the car by myself (5 ft 4 female) and this looked perfect. However I took it out on a lake an hour after buying it and it was miserable! The lake was calm but every time I stopped paddling the boat would start to rotate and I don't mean a little. It also didn't track that well. Every time I paddled it was as if I was correcting the stroke before it. I was not trying to get anywhere fast as we were bird watching but the boat required constant adjustments. I spent the last week in a kayak so I know that my skills are good - this boat is just not worth the money. My bf bought the Future Beach Fusion 10 Kayak and had a much more enjoyable time. His cost $100 less and handled much better. This boat felt like a cheap toy and an hour is about all that I could handle - I'm returning the boat tomorrow! July 13, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5áby Excellent Value This Kayak is stable and great for fishing and recreational use. You can't beat the value at this price! July 13, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5áby First Time Kak'er This is my first Kayak and I am in love! My fiancÚ has a Sit On Top and I liked it but, when I was at Dick's and sat IN this one, I felt better, like this was meant for my weight and height. First trip down the river, about a 5 hours trip, was GREAT! The only thing I don't like is, cleaning it out from sand. The Sit On Top's are easier to clean. Other than that, great first time kayak. Rated 3 out of 5áby swiftly broken First time out screws in the back of the seat pulled out rendering the seat useless. Thankfully the people at Dick's were help full and let me trade for a Future Beach 126 which has preformed very well after 5 trips out. July 3, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5áby Perception Sport Swifty DLX This is my first kayak and I love it! I am a bigger guy and this this is as stable as can be. Great kayak! June 24, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5áby great boat great boat for money easy to fish out of also can handle the rapids June 16, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5áby Perfect for me I'm a new kayaker on a budget. I chose this kayak after a little research. I liked the price, the roomy cockpit, the storage area, the comfortable seat, the easily adjustable foot petals, and the color - mine's purple. After taking it out on the lake, I'm very happy with it. It tracks well, maneuvers well, and it's stable enough and roomy enough that I can easily paddle with a squirmy 6 year old passenger. This is not a sports car - it's a comfortable sedan. It seems pretty durable. I don't doubt this will become a good loaner for kayaking guests when I'm ready to trade up to a faster model with more bells and whistles. June 15, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5áby Comfortable and easy maneuverability. It really is easy to use whether you have some experience or not. Just the right size for a 5 ft 6in person and not too heavy. Seat back is comfortable for even a 4 hour float down a river. Haven't tried the rod holders out but they are there when I do!! June 5, 2014
