Rated 5 out of 5 by Callaway Super Soft Golf Ball Review Callaway Super Soft Golf Ball Review by Stogiesnbogies FYI: I am a senior player with an 85-90 Max swing speed; a 15-17 handicap who plays senior flex shafted clubs. I hit my average drives between 180-200 yards and max out under ideal conditions with a very rare 220 yard "bomb". Callaway has produced the lowest compression ball on the market here with a 38 rating. In contrast the Wilson Staff Duo, it's nearest competitor has a 43 compression; the Wilson Staff Fifty Elite at 50, while the Titleist DT So/Lo checks in at 72. (FYI: All slower swing players; perhaps the reason that the Pro V1X does nothing for you or me has something to do with its 102 compression rating!) In addition to it's softest compression which enhances direction and distance (as well as feel off the club) Callaway has produced a soft, responsive cover. The soft core and soft cover combine with HEX aerodynamics to produce a golf ball that reduces spin and adds distance. I absolutely love this ball as it combines the best aspects of both the Wilson Staff Duo and the Wilson Staff Fifty Elite without any of their liabilities. For example the Callaway Super Soft has great distance like the duo but much better feel off the putter. I find the super soft to be straighter and consequently a tad longer than the Fifty Elite as well. It performs great around the greens with approach shots that sit and pitches and chips that run true. It feels and sounds great off of all club faces. It has proven to be quite durable as well as I played 2 full rounds with one ball and it still looks fine; no scuffs, scratches or cuts. Callaway definitely has a winner here for a large piece of the golfing market- namely seniors, most women and others with slower swing speeds. It is available in white or yellow (I tested white) and is well priced at 18 -20 dollars per dozen much like its market competitors, the Wilson Staff Duo and Titleist DT So/Lo. All good balls but I'm bagging the Callaway Super Softs Now!! February 25, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good ball. Will be my go-to waterhole ball in place of the Noodles These golf balls are really nice and soft... They perform well off the tee box with the driver. I was getting about 10-15 extra yards over my Tour Preferred and Lethal Taylormade balls. About 15-20 yards more than my Callaway Hex Chrome + balls. The ball has a nice feel off the driver, and flies a bit straighter than the others. It also releases nicely in the fairways. My driver head speed is about 95 mph, with a ball velocity of about 140-145 mph. Long irons and mid irons, the ball shines. Get a nice center face hit... you won't even know you hit the ball!!! The feeling is great and the sound is awesome as well. They perform on par with others if you mis-hit... can feel and sound like a rock. Short irons... Not the same distance as the other balls mentioned. These were coming up about 5-10 yards shorter when hit within 100 yards. Not a huge issue to overcome, however. You just have to be prepared when first setting out with these. Putting... after getting an understanding of distance and feel off the face, these are like butter. Straight and quiet. Great, soft feel off the blade. Bounce one off the cart path, however, and let the laughs begin. they just keep bouncing. They scuff really easily when bouncing off of asphalt and concrete. However, durability off the wedges is pretty good. I played a full round with 1 ball and no abrasions from the wedges. I am not ready to say these are a good replacement for a 3-5 layer tour ball, but these definitely give them a run for their money. I will probably play these more than the others simply because of their price point. May 12, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by This ball feels great off the driver! I've been playing softer balls for a couple of years now since I've become older. This is best feeling ball off the driver so far. Seems to be a bit straighter, checks up well on the green and seems to be as long as the other soft ball I was using. I believe I've found a new ball even though I really wasn't looking for a new one when I tried it. February 25, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Putting lights out... The best ball I've played. Cant really tell difference in distance but seems to travel straight. Checks on green very good. But here's where's it shaved me strokes - putting. At first it felt so different in putting. Didn't really like it at first - no click sound and no feedback. Too soft I'd say. But I stuck to it. After hours of pracitce in a week It was simply magical. My distance control improved alot. My buddies were amazed how well I was putting. Was regualry sinking 20-25 putts. No 3 putts. Tried my old balls, and putting noticably dropped. This ball is gonna stick with me for awhile. Thanks callaway. April 19, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Callaway gets this one right I am a mid 30's male who has a fairly high swing speed. I am also a mid to high handicap. I was very hesitant to try these balls since they advertise a "Supersoft" ball. I was concerned about loss of distance given my higher swing speed but I was being arrogant! I love the Callaway Supersoft now and will only play these when I have them on hand!. Do they go as far as a hard tour ball? No, but is the few (I mean like 2 or 3 at best# yards I lose hurtful when I can hit it straighter more often? NO!!!! These balls will not cure your slice or hooks but for the misses I do have, these respond far better than any other ball. If you want a tour ball with tour prices, then this is not the ball for you. If you want a solid ball that feels great, responds to the club, makes misses fly closer to your line (again, if you slice it then its not the balls fault), and adds distance to an easier swing, then welcome to the Callaway Supersoft. Besides, when you are looking at a hazard between you and the green, the mental advantage you will have playing a $1 ball vs $4 ball will help reduce your strokes. August 28, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Loved these balls These are great golf balls for Seniors!!!!! Distance is exceptional. June 24, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love this golf ball I'm a senior golfer and these are the best balls that I have tried. When Bridgestone discontinued the treosoft I wondered what I might replace them with. After trying several brands of low compression balls I have found the ones for me. The crisp feel and great distance off the tee coupled with great feel around greens make this ball an excellent choice for my slow swing speed. April 16, 2014

Rated 4 out of 5 by This golf ball worked very good for my slow swing I am almost 70 years old and this low compression golf ball worked very well for me. I added about 5 yards per club and it reacted very well on the greens. July 10, 2014
