Customer Reviews:

Rated 4.4 out of 5 by 10 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Good quality for the price I needed to replace the cheep old Shakespeare reel on my backup rod for bass fishing. The gears on that one were grinding loud enough to hear, the crank was always coming loose, and the bail loved to cause me headaches. I've loved my more expensive Shimano Spirex for years now, so I decided I would try a cheaper Shimano out this time. I have to say, I am very pleased with the Sienna rear drag 2500. So much so, that I never even picked up my primary rod while on the boat this past weekend! Well, aside from getting in and out of the boat of course. I was using 8lb monofilament, and it cast and retrieved as smooth as I could ask for. The biggest difference I noticed between this reel and my quickfire reel (not to mention the old, falling apart Shakespeare), was the instant anti reverse. There's no back peddle in the handle, so I was able to set the hook with the handle in any position. Really nice for those fish that seem to test your lure or hit and run. June 20, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best reel for the price I have several Sienna's and they work great. Smooth and easy to use. I use mine for Kokanee, Cutthroat trout and Rainbows. I have never had a problem with any of them. June 10, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by very smooth operation Great strength and smooth operation. Does not have the line capacity as advertised. May 28, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great reel Bought for my husband, he wanted such reel, he is very satisfied and very happy!!!! 4 days delivery. Thanks a lot May 27, 2016
Rated 2 out of 5 by rear drag was a drag , returned I had this for a week, fished with it 4 times did not like the rear drag , adjusting drag was difficult very stiff dial , then the reel started to get a binding feel to the bearings , I read another review who had a similar problem using the right side for the crank handle , I returned it for the front drag sienna 2500 seems to be better . dicks customer service was very accommodating with the exchange , thanks August 25, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent reel, great value This is a great purchase for the price and beyond. My more costly reels are not as smooth casting as this one. Great for lake and pond fishing with no trouble in handling the weight of some larger fish. The only drawback is my nephew keeps grabbing MY kit when he goes fishing. Guess I'll have to get one for him too. August 11, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great reel I put this reel on my feather lite rod and it is a great combination. I like the smoothness of the action it works great. The bail is a little stiff but that should get better with use. July 23, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Nice reel It does a nice job for a lower end reel. Smooth and light. June 3, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Not Bad I have had the Sienna RD for several years and it has revealed some of its uglier attributes over time. The first thing that I noticed about this reel is that it is not very aesthetically pleasing- it's kinda ugly. The main problem I had with it was that the handle would lock when I used it on the right side, but it works just fine on the left side. The reel has a shiny chrome finish that can scratch if you don't take very good care of it. I used the 4000 model on a MH Abu Garcia Conolon and the foot of the reel won't stay secure even if I tighten the rod's seat all the way down- I don't know if this is a problem with the reel or the (now discontinued) rod. The reel has still served me and my friends (it is now my guest rod) well, and I have caught several big catfish and drum on it. April 14, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by High Quality Reel The price is excellent for this kind of reel. I put this reel on a medium light rod and it worked great, especialy fishing for bass. March 10, 2014
