Rated 3.3 out of 5 by 7 reviewers.
Rated 1 out of 5 by Don't buy these. Dont buy these. The smaller kayaks work really well on our mountain river, but these are awful. We bought 2 of these to go along with our 6, eight foot Pelican brand kayaks. The Sundolphins are terrible. They take on water, are thin shelled and unstable. I want my money back. August 21, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Kayak Good quality for price. My daughter loves it so much. July 19, 2016
Rated 2 out of 5 by Too unstable for me New to the sport but have borrowed kayaks to get a feel for them before purchasing this one. I actually went to buy the 10' but was talked into the 8'. Yes, it's lighter to carry to the lake but very hard to keep it balanced. I like to coast with my legs over the top, but it wouldn't balance. There is no padded seat, just the back. After 30 minutes fighting the pull to the left and pull to the right I was exhausted. My partner got one and liked his OK he said, ''for as much as I will use it it's a good price. I took mine back for the 10'. Guess I was just use to that size. June 26, 2016
Rated 1 out of 5 by Unstable This was the first kayak I purchased but I quickly went out and purchased another kayak. There are no foot pegs so you don't get that additional bracing for stability. I still have this kayak and use it for large group outings but most people say the same thing, its very unstable and they wouldn't recommend it. April 21, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by great kayak Highly recommended, easy to stear and control. Used on the river was very easy to maneuver. Lightweight to carry down the embankment by myself. July 5, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great help at Dick's Sporting Goods We purchased a kayak for our son with the invaluable assistance of an employee at the Springfield VA store. He spent a long time on the phone with me initially and then activated the online order and shipping for us when we followed up at the store. He got us the best possible deal on the shipping--it even arrived in time for Christmas! Our son is pleased with the product, even though he hasn't been able to test it out in the water yet. Rated 5 out of 5 by Solid kayak for the price I bought this as a beginner kayak, for use on flat water, mostly lakes and slow moving rivers. It's light weight, easy for me to load (5'3', 118 lbs) and I have no problem moving it to and from my vehicle roof racks, up and down river banks, and carrying it to the lake. For it's size, it tracks well and because it's 8 feet, it can turn in a small amount of space, fits into narrow channels and floats easily in as little as 3 inches of water. The back rest is adjustable and I encourage you to take the time to adjust it for your size and comfort. Leg room for me is more than enough to store a cooler, my life vest and my dog. The dry well isn't large, but will accomodate a cell phone and a spare shirt. I've used this kayak for 3 months. It was an excellent choice for an entry level kayak, a good value and best of all, extremely usable for a single person. I would recommend a pad for the seat bottom, just for your comfort over the course of a several hours paddle. October 23, 2014
