Rated 2 out of 5 by Mark16 Wet tent Do not buy if there is even a chance of rain. We used for two nights with rain both nights. I was quite impressed the first night as it stayed very dry with a steady rain. The second night it was a light rain and for some reason it could not handle that. My family is fairly new to camping and now we are already looking for a new tent to ensure that we stay dry. August 25, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Cfw103 Tent This is my first experience with camping Tent was great and easy to set up and break down. Large on the inside. The zipper was terrible and broke or got caught many times. Kids had a hard time with it. It was a good tent but the zipper is poorly made. August 19, 2016
Rated 2 out of 5 by PhillyB Needs work The first time we used it, we had an extremely heavy downpour for several hours. Not one single leak. I was very impressed. The rain was some of the hardest rain I have camped in. The tent stayed very dry. The floor space is good. We had 2 queen & 1 twin air mattresses with room between and around all sides. The only decent head room is standing Right in the middle. On the 3rd use one of the tiny fiberglass poles for the rain fly broke into. They are a little smaller than a pencil. After discovering replacement poles were backorderd, I returned the tent with the replacement plan for a brand new one at Dicks. This was a very easy process that works great. The new tent leaked a little at the seams near one of the Windows. All the poles seem too small (both tents) for the stress and load they are under. Now after 2-3 uses, the poles seem to retain some of the bend from being installed into the tent. On 2nd use, the seam pulled apt at the door zipper, on the 3rd use, one of the straps in the corner that the ground stakes go thru ripped off the tent. Once erected, everything just seems too tight. I again used Dicks replacement program over the phone. A refund check is on the way and I plan to find a different tent. August 15, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Christina09 Good tent Never owned a tent and this one is a good one for us. The directions were a little confusing, but we were able to figure it out using the pictures. I was a little worried about the tent door zipper being opened and closed by our kids throughout the day, but it was fine. I am 5 6" and I could stand up tall in the middle and mostly on the sides. We had one large queen mattress, one twin, one playpen and three in sleeping bags with a little room to spare. July 25, 2016
Rated 2 out of 5 by Mel13 You get what you pay for! I was excited about the large footprint and price of this tent. It holds up well in the rain, but not wind. The first time I used this tent it poored rain all weekend. Everyone and everything stayed dry! When we got home we set the tent up to dry out. The kids enjoyed sleeping in the backyard until the wind started blowing. The entire tent went almost completely flat in 15 mph winds. Unfortunately, two of the poles snapped before I could get the tent down. Also, the door zipper pulls very tightly, I don't see this holding up over time either. July 21, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by grc1976 Big family tent! I bought this tent for family camping. I have a family of six and this tent provided plenty of space. This tent has the same footprint as many 10 man tents. However, because the sides of the tent slopes down, you may not be able to get as many people in. For it's size, this is a light tent. So far, I have not been camping with this tent in stormy conditions, but I don't plan to use this tent for that. It seems too light of a tent to hold up to sever conditions. This is a great family tent for the price. July 15, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Salukis97 So far so good. We have used this tent once so far. We had 2 adults and 3 children sleeping comfortably on two queen air mattresses. There was room for an additional twin or possibly full mattress. My only complaint is the setup. Fairly tedious in this day and age of "instant" pitch tents. I almost wish I would have spent the extra $ for an instant tent, but this tent works just fine. We had no rain so I can't comment on how it holds up to water. July 14, 2016
Rated 2 out of 5 by cpz Tent pole broke within 24 hours Very roomy tent, was easy to put up with just the help of my 7 year old. 1 of the main tent poles broke within the first 24 hours but luckily was able to get it to hold up for the weekend with some duct tape. June 20, 2016
Rated 2 out of 5 by Beasley123 Good for Fair-Weather Backyard Camping (and that's about it) The only reason this tent gets 2-Stars is due to its size. We were able to fit a Double-High Queen air mattress, and 3 Single-High twin mattresses, dog kennel, and duffel bags/luggage with room to walk around. That's where the pro's end. Our very first night in the tent, we were subjected to 15-20 MPH winds (this tent is 'rated' to 35+ MPH), and the thing bowed and bent over, with the roof slapping our kids and us in the face numerous times (with a 3 1/2 year old, you can imagine how terrifying this would be). Our vehicle (Dodge Grand Caravan) was parked immediately up-wind, so the tent had some mild wind-break as well. When we woke up in the morning, we had found that the tab that holds the key-ring with the pole supports had completely ripped away from the base of the tent - the only thing holding it up was the tent stake. The tent was rendered completely unusable at this point (no way to structurally set it back up due to a horrible design). After one night of a two night trip, we had to pack it up and head home (much to the disappointment of our 3 kids). This tent would be OK for a birthday party sleep over in the back yard, on a very calm night - beyond that, it is absolute junk. I cannot attest to the water-repellent nature as there was no rain what-so-ever. This will be the last 'new' Coleman product I will purchase (I truly believe their older gear is good; the stuff made in the 70's, 80's, and early 90's) - when something is rated to 35+ MPH, it should not completely fall in on itself and break like it did in half the rated conditions. 5-Stars to Dick's - when I brought it back to the store and told them what they had happened, they were very apologetic and gave me a complete refund with no further questions. Rated 2 out of 5 by Terry Zipper broken after second camping season. Well I will start by saying the tent is very roomy inside. I could easily fit my family and all our stuff inside. My issue is with the zipper it broke after only our second camping season making it worthless. The zipper just won't stay together anymore. Camping gear is supposed to be rugged and durable but sadly I'm in the market for a new tent. I will give it a 2 star because it is roomy and decent for the price is you get a working zipper.
