Rated 5 out of 5áby Excellent cold weather gear I bought this jacket for my recent trip to Boston in the middle of their snowiest month on record. I walked all around the city seeing different sites for several days in the snow and ice and this jacket was perfect for blocking wind and keeping body heat in. Definitely a great purchase. Rated 3 out of 5áby Columbia is not what it used to be Just purchased this jacket a little over a week ago. Although the customer service was great at Dick's and everyone was very helpful the jacket was not so great. It's comfortable and looks great but the Velcro is already falling off of the coat after only using the coat 3 times. On my 8 year old Columbia triclimate jacket the velcro is much larger and is sewn on much better. The Velcro on the new jacket is very small and looks to be much lower quality. Pros Looks great Keeps you warm even with high wind Comfortable Cons Cheaper Material and Stitching Hood is not as durable February 18, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5áby awesome choice when trying to get a teenager who doesn't want to wear a jacket to wear one my 13 year old son who thinks wearing a jacket is uncool actually is wearing this one because he is realized it looks cool and is keeping him very warm and you will be able to get more than just this winter season use out of this jacket because it features Zip Out Lining February 3, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5áby The omni heat has kept me warm on our single digit temp, below zero windshield days in Kansas City. I had to buy this "Mens" coat due to the XL in womens not measuring up to the XL in Mens. Trying to find a coat that will fit full figured ladies size 18 plus is very difficult in solid name brands like North Face and Columbia. LL Bean carries some, but were out of stock on there web site. I am pleased with the fit and style. January 22, 2015
Rated 3 out of 5áby Reasonably nice coat, but definitely NOT 'Arctic' rated. I bought this Columbia Bugaboo coat specifically because my inexpensive NordicTrack coat is only mediocre in cold weather. Sadly, this Columbia is only slightly better. I wore the coat during non-windy temperatures of 8F and 34F on two evenings. Comfort is high with soft materials and a nice feel to the skin. The fit is 'relaxed' even though my measurements are at the upper end of the claimed size range, so I used the drawstrings. The coat fails to keep me 'toasty' warm like some other reviewers seem to portray their experiences. I could feel the cold in my upper back. The outer shell is mighty thin and though I'm sure it sheds water, I can't believe it contributes much to warmth. Apart from not being sufficiently warm, the coat seems well put together, and the materials seem robust. Pockets would be better if: external pockets had zippers, and internal pockets were not enormous (so things slide around). I'm returning the coat because the cost is too much to pay for something that does not do the job of keeping me warm. Note that for climates mostly above freezing this coat may be just fine. Rated 5 out of 5áby perfect for brutal Michigan winter I bought this jacket to wear over a shirt and tie. I sell cars in michigan and i am in and out all day long. I didn't want something too bulky and puffy. This jacket is unbelievably thin for the amount of warmth it provides. We had a 12 degree day that was very windy. the jacket held up very well. I was very surprised due to how thin it is. I had several co-workers do the same test that day with my coat. 4 went and purchased the next day. thanks Columbia December 9, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5áby Warm Jacket This jacket is very lightweight, yet very warm. I live in Minnesota and a good jacket is essential. February 2, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5áby Columbia over North Face I tried two North Face jackets first, returned them both. Finally settled on the extremely comfortable, lightweight, warm black Columbia Bugaboo Interchange 3-in-1 Jacket and I couldn't be happier. A day after my purchase I got to give the jacket a test run; an hour in 38 degree pouring rain with 25 mph wind gusts and nothing got through! This jacket is completely sealed and repelled the horrendous weather I experienced. An excellent value at $175 November 23, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5áby Perfect Moved to Chicago, wanted something to keep me warm but look sporty at same time. Love the 3-in-1 option of this jacket October 28, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5áby Great Jacket but has its own Technical snags Bought this Jacket for my husband on the clearance from Dicks Sporting Goods. Even with the clearance the price was almost $120 with Tax etc., which for the jacket and its quality feels pricy even on clearance. Have been using this jacket for about 3-4 days now, a good time as there is lot of extreme weather hitting right this week. The jacket looks great and itself is very light. The outer layer is thin and acts as a wind cheater and waterproofer. The second removable part is the fleece jacket to be worn inside which has the Omni Heat Technology. The bottom part of the outer jacket has drawstrings to tighten the jacket. There are 4 pockets on the outer waterproof jacket which are relatively big and with zip and velcro closures. The inside of the pockets are lined with cotton cloth which is soft to touch and keeps hands warmer than the usual silky nylon materials that regular plush jackets use. The biggest biggest downside to this jacket for the name of Columbia is the hood and some materials used. The hood over the head is almost non functional. The basic design of the hood is inefficient for severe winter weather. It has whatsoever no insulation. Yesterday was one of the coldest day with 0F and almost a feeling of -5F with wind gusts of 21 miles/Hr. My husband went out to check the jacket for its effectiveness. Though the arms and chest area seemed ok with him wearing a cotton inner, a T-Shirt and a half sweater underneath the jacket, BUT, the whole jacket seemed useless because the hood of the jacket has no insulation / filling or Omni heat protection or even the basic fleece protection which leaves the head extremely cold. So even if you seem to feel warm on your body, when the cold strikes the head, it is no good. It leaves you jittery and cold all over. So, when the sporting goods companies advertise it under Arctic (so you feel that it would hold up to that kind of extremity), it is just an overrating I feel. It no where holds up to the Arctic ratings / weather conditions. One would expect that with the name of Columbia and people willing to pay the big ticket price, at least the head gear would be designed a little more sensibly and would have at least some form of warm padding to protect the most important part of the body - your head. Another drawback is that the stitching of the Velcro seems flimsy. I would have to reinforce it again with a sewing machine if I have to make it more durable. The velcro used itself is of thin cheap material unlike the durable thick velcros that last longer. Overall the jacket is good, but when asked how the jacket compared to his earlier winter jackets, my husband said for winter protection one of the jackets I had bought for him from the NOIZE brand (retail for $250, I bought it on clearance for $89) was way better even though it was a wee bit heavier than the Columbia one. Just the inefficient designing of the head gear takes away all the warm credibility of this jacket. My husband is an engineer and needs to frequent in and out of the office for his projects a lot. So protection from extreme climates was a main criteria for me, but, this jacket does not hold up as much because of its head gear, even though the rest of the jacket is under 2lbs and warm. It is good for a regular winter and when it's not extremely windy and Snowy chilly. I would recommend this jacket to anyone who has a head which does not get affected that easily with extremities of winter with wind chills. Seriously, if you feel the cold in your ears, head and nose ... the head gear of this jacket wont hold unless you wear a fleece beanie or a woolen monkey cap under it. Overall a good buy, just very expensive for the the product quality even on clearance price. Will keep the jacket though. Its kinda cute to fit. The color is nice. Also, if you have a chest around 40-41 inches, go for the Size Medium if you are an average built. The Large size recommended for 41 inches - 44 inches jacket (as per Columbia measurement guide) would be larger. Overall Satisfied, won't say extremely happy. But, will keep it just because it's columbia and so many people ogle about its Omni Heat technology. It's my very first buy, don't know if I'll buy Columbia again though. February 20, 2015
