Rated 4 out of 5 by Good for the money Pretty easy set up. I used on my Mazda 5 for my Future Beach 12' kayak. The straps were annoying until some old salts recommended twisting them so they don't vibrate sound and it worked like a charm. This is a great, cheap product for occasional trips. October 27, 2016
Rated 2 out of 5 by Inexpensive and somewhat durable I recently purchased and used this product while traveling 100 miles round trip, speeds up to 65 mph, to reach my Kayaking destination. The foam blocks work as expected but the durability of the straps themselves seem a bit to be desired for. I had to stop every so often just to ensure that the straps hadn't come loose. I did have to tighten them once or twice but overall they did hold and worked as expected. As others have stated, the straps tend to make an annoying noise once traveling over 200 or so mph. If you don't mind cranking up the tunes then you'll be good to go. I can't say that I'd be confident using them over and over again from fear of quick wear and tear but they should do the trick if used for short distances and every so often/not every weekend. I will continue to use the foam blocks but will be replacing the straps with something I can rely on. If you decide to use this product, I'd definitely recommend carrying an extra set of straps just in case. August 23, 2016
Rated 2 out of 5 by It works, but it's not sturdy I purchased this because I couldn't afford the proper $400 car mounting system from Thule or Yakima, after purchasing 2 kayaks, 2 paddles, 2 PFDs, and other assorted kayaking items. For $35.99 this will get the kayak on your car roof and home safely, but it dents your roof if you strap it down tightly (as you should). To be honest, I've never felt as though the straps and ratchet set they give you are all that sturdy. I'm just waiting until I can afford a better mounting system because this thing feels like it will fly off the roof at any given moment. Do NOT take on long trips or trips where you exceed 45 mph. I've gone faster, but it gets a little scary. Excess straps flopping all over the place could get caught in your tires and smack the sides of your car. $35 got my kayak home from the store and a few trips to/from the local lake, but it's an overpriced foam blocks and cheap strap set that dent your car roof. If you can afford a better mounting options, I would recommend against this item. If you're in a pinch, it should work. July 27, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Easy to use, works great. We bought this to transport our kayak on a 300-mile trip... This worked perfectly we only used one extra strap to secure through the second door. it did not leave scratches it did not move around at all. if you properly secure a kayak on the roof of your vehicle this item works like a champ. We loaded it on the top of a Toyota Tacoma extended cab. Would definitely recommend this product as a cheap way of transporting kayaks and canoes. July 20, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by kayak carrier kit Wow, both kits are easy to put on top of CRV. The kayaks fit snug with tie downs. This also allows extra tie downs to be used for a firm secure fit,. July 19, 2016
Rated 1 out of 5 by Waste of money, surprised Dick's carries it Bought this to secure a 10'4" Future Beach kayak to my car's roof. The quality of the straps is poor and does not instill confidence while tightening them. I was positive I was going to snap them. The buckle does not handle tension well and slips. Perhaps the worst part is the super loud noise the straps make any time you go over 20 MPH, seriously horrible. This is an inferior product that you'd expect to find anywhere else but Dick's. I'm disappointed that they continue to carry such a product after so many negative reviews. July 16, 2016

Rated 2 out of 5 by Disappointed and annoyed Bought this to transport my Future Beach 10' 4" kayak. The drive from my place to the launch pad is maybe 15 minutes, however any time I reach 20 MPH on the streets the noise that the straps make is horrible! I'm driving an SUV that has a rack, I'm using the straps to simply secure the kayak to the car. Who knows if it's the material the straps are made of? They're secured tight, the kayak isn't moving at all, however the noise/buzz the straps make are loud! You get two stars for securing the kayak, but nothing more because the quality is just so poor. Would never use this kit for anything longer than a 30 minute drive. July 7, 2016
Rated 3 out of 5 by So so I bought this in a pinch. The foam is good but the straps kinda suck and loosen rather easily. I'm no longer using them but using ratchet straps with the foam instead. So it ends up being some pretty expensive foam! June 21, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good Portable Option Works good to move kayak a short distance. The directions need a little clarification work to better explain how to set up the carrier. June 14, 2016
