Rated 4.1 out of 5 by 11 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent fitness watch for the money! There are a great deal of features on this watch for the money. I have owned it a month and really love it. It keeps track of steps, calories burned, distance, history, and the GPS I have found is very accurate. The display is very easy to read with large numbers and lettering. Garmin doesn't cram this watch with too much lettering on the display to attempt to read. It also will beep and remind you to move to make your steps goal. Reliable, sporty, light and not overly bulky like some watches out there. Compared it to a few others like Timex, FitBit, and even the Garmin HRM watch and found it to be the best value for the features you get. (And in my opinion, all these fitness watches are overpriced, but this one I feel gives you the most bang for your buck if you don't need/want a HRM on your watch.) My only concern, as with many of these watches, is the large plastic display getting accidentally hit and cracking. November 12, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good replacement for Fitbit Chose this to replace my Fitbit that I lost. It fell off my wrist while traveling - also had the skin allergy. Pros: *Watch & pedometer *Has GPS - but I haven't tried it yet, recovering from an injury. *Male & female sizes. I'm a female, but I want a black watch. *Watch closure - won't fall off like Fitbits do. *Band has a lot of size holes, so my 8 & 11 year old sons could wear it. *Has the same scorecard charts that Fitbit to track my goals. *When I do sync my watch, it pushes the info down to my Android - similar to Fitbit Cons: *Wished it had the 3 alarms that my Timex Ironman watch has (wake up, get my kids to / from school) *Have to charge it. *Manuals aren't very informative. I haven't been able to figure out if this is water resistant. Assuming its not because there isn't a cover for 4 charging terminals on the back of the watch. No, they don't stick out, so nothing digs into your skin. *Buttons stick out similar to the Timex Ironman. I've inadvertently hit the buttons *Doesn't have bluetooth, so similar to my lost Fitbit, I have to plug it in to sync it - just like Fitbits December 8, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Easy to use and accurate. Simple to use without feeling like you have a tablet on your wrist. No frills and accurate. I'm an avid runner that generally logs 100+ miles/month. January 23, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent Features, Non-Bulky Design, and Fast Tracking I've been using this watch for several weeks, and have absolutely no complaints. This watch has all of the essential features for a running watch, but not overly cumbersome or filled with clunky menus. The watch itself is not bulky like some of the more expensive models and is extremely light. The watchband is not integrated into the watch so it can be replaced if it breaks or for hygienic reasons. The satellite tracking is super accurate and fast. I have even used it for indoor track meets surprisingly and it still tracked me going around in circles fairly well. The watch does have a timer, but not a stopwatch for doing lap splitting, at least not that I can figure out or have read about. One other feature is that this model is the larger version, and the display is just the right size, not too big and not too small. It is also very legible. The battery holds up acceptably well, and charges rather quick. If you look around on eBay there are sellers that have screen protectors for this model, which I have one on mine. Overall, I am extremely pleased with this watch and would recommend this watch to anyone who loves to run. This is coming from someone who has been using Google Earth to map their runs for years because the older GPS watches were slow, huge, and clunky... now just let the technology do the work for you. One of the reasons I went with the 15 versus the 10, is one... being it is newer, and secondly you can get the ANT+ accessories like the foot pod and HRM. I don't have either, but down the road, I plan on purchasing them. Overall, this Forerunner is awesome for it's functionality and price. February 19, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great intro to Garmin products I've ran a few half marathons and a marathon and I bought a garmin off ebay. It broke , it confused me a bit etc. This watch meets and exceeds all my needs . It's easy to use and charge. It's perfect for finding out my pace and distance and the step counter is a bonus April 15, 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by Battery Dies Quickly!!! So I just did my 1st Marathon at Disney on Sunday! Bought this watch so I could track my Marathon, time, and pace. Had it FULLY CHARGED before leaving Allstar Hotel. Put it on regular watch mode. Then turned it on to start at the Start Line. I had it set to 2:1 intervals & toggled between screens during the marathon. Started flashing low battery around mile 19/20?!? Then it DIED on me at Mile 24.01!!!! So freaking frustrated. While I was not that fast, I was not that slow either!!! I had a net time of 6:25!!! Crossed the Finish line around 7:15! That is way below the 8Hours they claim it should last!!! So now I am torn whether to return it & start looking for a better running watch. Otherwise, I like that it counts steps as well on a daily basis. Also a major CON is that you have to buy Foot Pod to be able to use it indoors when running on treadmill & not Bluetooth compatible to track your activities. January 13, 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by GPS is good, Band is not I have had two Garmin Forerunners, first band broke just after a month, second was just over a year - fortunately I paid for the warranty, which is frustrating that I need to as the band design is weak. March 19, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by understand it is fairly basic So far I like the watch, but I will say it has issues finding its location. Don't know if even the higher level watches have this problem. It serves its basic need, but doesn't really wow with its features. August 20, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by Watch band broke after 2 months GPS is OK, but from an engineering standpoint, the band is the worst design ever. I'm now running with my watch held together with chicken wire; which is a better design than the original. August 23, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good Watch Good watch for the price. The only thing I did not like was that it did not have Bluetooth. Even for the price I would expect in 2014 for it to have Bluetooth. July 7, 2014
