TaylorMade SLDR Driver - White 4 5 2 2
Nice adjustment features. If not hit on the sweet spot, bad results. Can not hit off heel or toe. October 6, 2014
Best distance ever...Buyer Beware, test several different setups before buying this club. I first tested this club at a different store and out of the blocks I was landing drives at 270+ and rolling over 300+ yards. My swing speed is 102mph - 105mph with my driver. I would say unless your swing speed is above 98mph don't bother with this club, your risk to reward won't be very appealing. I normally hit the ball very high due to my swing, and I liked the idea of the lower center-of-gravity and lower ball flight. When I finally purchased it and tested it at the driving range I was so frustrated I almost took it back (I was told to tee the ball up higher than I normally do...the salesman told me half a ball above the top of the face) but after moving it back down to where I normally tee it I started having success. I was crushing drives during my first round landing it around 275 yards and rolling around 285. Regardless of roll the ball flight was a lot lower than I am used too so I ended up lofting up to 14 degrees and I started seeing my normal trajectory and started seeing the increase in distance. T One of the bigger positives is the movable weight technology which is a 20 gram slider on the bottom of the club that allows you to draw or fade your drives (if you hit the ball down the middle every time) otherwise I wound up using the slider as a fix-it mechanism depending on which way my drives were spinning. I also love the ability to change the loft of the club on the fly. This is huge here in the Pacific Northwest due to the number of large evergreen trees that usually line the fairways and usually make for narrow low trajectory drives a breeze. The ability to center the 20 gram weight is great because it allows you to center it and work a draw or fade at will. The biggest negative is that the sweet spot is very small on this club. It is not a forgiving driver and one you need to learn how to hit. However, the sweet spot is also one of the biggest positives because when you learn to hit it there is no better driver on the market today. My last driver was the R7 and that club I found to be very forgiving. All in all I am very glad I didn't return it and grinded at the range until I figured out how to hit this club. The reward for a higher swing speed is worth the extra range time I spent learning it. Sorry for the long review but I felt it was necessary to encompass my experience with this club, especially for the price ($400.00 + tax). June 3, 2014
