Great Jacket, Great Sale Price I'm happy with this jacket. I took this jacket to one of the worst blizzard conditions I've ever experienced, -15 degree temp, 30 ft visibility, horizontal gust-driven precipitation. All I had on underneath this jacket was an thin T undershirt and a mock turtleneck. This jacket kept me exceptionally warm for being so light-weight. The number of pockets is very cool. The Internal stretch cuffs with thumbholes are awesome as well. The other really cool part of this jacket, for the money, is the helmet compatible hood (detachable). March 2, 2015
Great Coat. you will never go wrong with a Spyder. Great Coat. you will never go wrong with a Spyder. February 20, 2015
Versatile and Decent Quality Many of the features of Spyders more expensive jackets at a lower price point such as pit flaps, detachable helmet compatible hood, some waterproof zippers and wrist gaiters with thumb holes. A couple of differences are waterproof zippers only on side, chest and pass pockets while the main front zip just has a velcro flap, the pit zips are also not waterproof. It has a powder skirt but its not detachable like some of the other models. In addition this jacket is listed as 60g insulation as opposed to 80-100 for the upper end coats. I find however that it is as warm as I will ever need. I used it in -5F degree weather with 40 mph winds here in Minnesota with a poly shirt and down liner and was toasty. The bonus is that being a little lighter insulation allows you to use it in warmer weather also, I use a fleece under it for 10-30 degrees and just a shirt with the pit flaps open when it gets into the 40's, so great for layering and more versatile than a heavy jacket for sure. Fit is true to size I'm 225lbs 6'2" and XL works perfect, this is a comfortable jacket and the arms are nice and long. The green in the picture looks a little more yellow than this coat does in person, the Bryte Green is actually a VERY NEON lime green, it stands out and I get lots of positive comments on it. If you like dayglow, get yours now before the drab colors make a comeback next year. Pretty good jacket at $350, excellent value if you catch the 40% off sale now at $206 February 19, 2015
excellent ski jacket Wore this for 5 days skiing in Steamboat Springs. Kept me warm and dry every day. Temps between 20 to 30 and wore nothing else but a Nike Drifit layer underneath and still used the side vents daily (which work very well). The water resistance held up well, but did start to soak in after 2-3 hours of mixed rain/sleet/snow on the mountain and a few wipe outs. The zippers are large and easy to use with ski gloves. The wrist gaiters and powder skirt worked flawlessly and the shirt has snaps to secure it to ski pants. The Osetra color is BROWN, even though it looks gray in most photos online. Still looks great. For sizing reference, I'm 5'9" 150lbs and bought the medium initially but exchanged for a small, easily fits a sweater-thick mid layer underneath. Glad I downsized. February 5, 2015
