DBX Boys' Cascade Mountain Bike 2014 2.7 5 10 10
Good starter bike for gears My bought the bike for our sons 10th birthday last week and he loves it. It is his first bike with gears and the bike has taken a beating with the gear adjustments but holding up okay. We bought the two year warranty just on case something happens. Good deal so far as price and durability October 9, 2014
Overall a good value The gears were a little more difficult to shift then I expected. September 23, 2014
Great bike for grandson! Excellent quality in fit and finish. My grandson found the bike very easy to transition from a BMX to this bike. September 9, 2014
Does not shift solid! Bike frame looks great but will not stay in gear, took it back and the bike guy adjusted it but it still clicked and slipped out of certain gears when we got it home. The derailer was terrible and very poor quality. I know the price is low but the bike has to at least work! There was another in the store but it also did not shift solid and made a clicking noise. The people at Dicks were very good about the situation they tried to fix it but in the end I returned it because it still would not lock into gear solidly. Very poor quality shifting components. August 18, 2014
Low price bike You can't get a road bike for kids cheaper. It's worth the price. I would have liked a wider selection, and would have paid more for better quality August 5, 2014
Problem from the box I have been pleased with the quality and performance of the bike. The bike was shipped with a crimped rear brake cable that I had to replace before the bike could be used. That was a hassle to fix on a brand new bike. June 18, 2014
mountain bike Gears werent properly adjusted and handle bar continualy loosens. June 17, 2014
Bad Bike The store had about 6 in stock and all of them had problems changing to high gear (big star out of 3 in the front). Took the bike tech about an hour to fix adjust so I got a new one. Went to parking lot to test the bike and the derailleur (rear gear changer) broke. I went in for the 3 one and after gears did not change in the rear this time, was forced to return it. 3 bikes and didn't even leave the store parking lot. Not good. Not worth it for $130. Just pony up some more money and get a better brand. $200 can get you a better bike if you want to go low end. Store customer service was great during process.. bike is not worth it. June 14, 2014
Nice Bike for a Girl or Boy We bought this bike for our daughter as she likes blue, and this was a nice royal blue as opposed to navy. We were actually advised by an architect to buy Boy bike frames whenever possible, as they have a sturdier structure than the traditional women's bike frame. It took her awhile to get used to the gear changing directly on the handlebars, but she's fine now. We were told that a major bike company was contracted to make the DBX store brand bike, so we feel we got a good value. Dick's adjusted it for her seat height, gave her a tutorial, and made sure she felt confident before even selling it to us. We were very pleased with the customer service, from bike dept. to store manager. May 20, 2014
Junk One ride derailer broke took bike back, got gift card for return. Had to buy the same one threw online. We got it and we took it to the store for the workers at the bike shop to assemble. we came back to check on it and they said it was having the same problem . The gears when they shifted them it started clicking so we went with the Nishiki. May 10, 2014
