Customer Reviews:

Rated 5 out of 5 by 1 reviewer.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Fantastic Feel Irons Same clubs played by Padraig Harrington during his Honda Classic win in Feb. I like Padraig, but I ultimately decided that Wilson was a good brand to go with because, frankly, they've been around forever and are played by a lot of Europeans on links courses, which is extremely close to the types of courses I play on. That, and I found these somewhere else for about half the price. Picked up a FULL set of M3 clubs to replace my prior Callaway/TaylorMade mutt set, namely the RocketBladez irons, so this is what I will be comparing them to (see my review for the RocketBladez irons as well). First off, the feel of these irons are the best I've ever felt, and I've worked my way up through Slazenger, Callaway, TaylorMade, and now these. The first thing to note is that these irons ARE NOT game improvement irons. Wilson classifies their clubs as either F, D, or C- F for feel, D for distance, and C for control. These are feel irons, thus enabling the player to rely on feel for feedback. They have VERY little forgiveness, which is great- and you'll feel it when you hit a bad shot. You also won't feel anything when you hit a great shot. They're not game improvement irons, like I said, so if you can't hit straight or duff a lot of shots, these irons aren't for you. They're incredibly light, have a thin face, and oddly enough came stock 1/2" shorter than my RocketBladez (I had them shortened by about 1"). I lost my ability to draw the ball when I picked up a set of the RocketBladez- these irons brought it back with impressive results. I hit the ball much lower than I used to, providing more run than carry, which is great for links-type golfers. When I pull out a 9 or a wedge, I can say with certainly that if I hit a knock-down shot the ball is going to stick on the green like a lawn dart. Nice low trajectory, precision, and amazing spin is what these irons did for me. Highly, highly recommend these babies. If you're thinking about buying them, consider your measurements. These clubs are by far the shortest clubs I ever used, and I'm 6', which actually made them perfect for me. I had the lie angle retro-fitted by about 3^ and now they're absolutely perfect for me. If you're ordering these clubs from a place that does custom fittings, do yourself a favour and have them custom fit. Many places have an online system that asks you a few questions about your measurements and can custom fit your clubs for you before they even ship out. I highly recommend you do that. Most people think they're not good enough for custom clubs, but they're dead wrong. Everyone's swing and measurements are different. If you don't have clubs tailored to your specific swing, you're just inviting bad mechanics and inconsistencies into your game. With custom clubs, you'll know 100% that a bad shot was because of you, not the clubs. May 28, 2015
