The North Face Men's ThermoBall Remix Insulated Jacket 1 1
Mobility & Performance without the Bulk. Surprising great under boisterous cold weather conditions but it has its shortcomings. Color: Love the color block look. Purchased the Valencia Orange/Vanadis Grey. This shade of orange is more like you expect from a kid's jacket. Expecting more of a Fall shade orange but instead it's more of a bright traffic cone orange. This would be perfect if it was more of a pale or dull orange shade. Hopefully in time the color dulls out. Fit: NOT the same fit as the other Thermoball jackets in the same size. Overall it has a better fit; possibly athletic cut. The other Thermoball jackets (jacket & hoodie 2014 versions) has a more relaxed; almost baggy fit. With this tailor-like fit to my semi-athletic body, it's very mobile; non-restrictive. I'm one to carry my S5 phone on a belt holster & yet it doesn't poke through this thin jacket. Warmth: I've had older non-TNF Primaloft outwear before but never this thin & effective. Used it all day & into the night when the temperature dipped into 43F with a windchill of 31F. Used it in a boisterously cold & windy NYC Sunday with just a branded & fitted thermal crew-neck shirt and was not cold at all. Waterproof: Not tested to date. Negative/What it lacks: For an expensive jacket, it lacks pockets. Almost all my NorthFace jackets have at least one Napoleon breast pocket. This jacket would be perfect if it has one, whether on the inside or outside (blending in) of the shell. November 2, 2014
