Merrell Men's Chameleon Stretch Hiking Shoe 4.6 5 12 12
Chameleon 4 I've been wearing Chameleons for many years and am very loyal to Merrell. I have Planters Faciatis and insole really matters to me. I gave them 4 stars due to the notibale decrease in quality. It is obvious that there has been some cost cutting either by Merrell or the factory. Basically they don't last as long as they used to. I hope if merrell isn't doing the cost cuts that they find a new factory and if they are the ones doing it STOP. still my go to shoe **** May 16, 2013
Best Design of the Chameleon series Best Design in the Chameleon series. In 3 yrs I had 2 pair of the Chameleon 3s. Still have them for street use and knock abouts, but have worn the soles too much optimum hiking. I went to purchase a new pair and found the Chameleon 4 have replaced them and are "improved" per the foks at a Merrell factory outlet. The basic shoe design remained the same with some cosmetic differences except they did away with the front finger loop at top of the laces. The loop is there to aid pulling the neoprene stretch material as you slip your foot in the shoe. The loop made the shoe very user-friendly and convenient to put on in one motion. The price also increased approximately 10% on the latest model. i immediately start searching for this earlier version and found them at Dick's. Unfortunately, the local store didn't have my size in stock, but their representative got me on line at their instore internet kiosk and located the correct size at the usual price. Shipping was free to my door. Tried them all on & they fit perfectly. I am impressed with the sizing consistentcy. I put my money where my mouth is and I bought 3 pair on the spot. i April 24, 2013
Excellent Long Distance Hiking Shoe! I bought a pair of these shoes in early 2011 and wore them on the Camino De Santiago, the five hundred mile pilgimage trail from southern France, over the Pyrennes and all the way across northern Spain to Compostella De Santiago. They were solid, good quality, easty-to-adjust in mid-walk. We had very little rain, but I had no slippage problems on the many up and down hills/mountains and rocky paths. I still have the original pair and just bought another for our next trip on the pilgramage trail across southern France this year, the Chemin De Le Puy...It connects with our starting point two years ago and will be about 460 miles of hiking. I'm breaking in the new pair, but they require very little of that. Highly recommended. March 10, 2013
Great shoes Product as described. Shipping was fast and I'm saddened that Merrill discontinued this particular shoe design. I have four pair. March 4, 2013
GoodFoot Easy on !! Bought these because they looked easy to get on and off .. and they do slip on/off with ease... And they are comfy walkers.. February 16, 2013
Chameleon's rule! This is my second pair of the same shoe, so you know I like it other shoe lasted 3 years of all around use plus some heavy hiking, my first pair every thing is still like new, I just wore out the sole! Had to buy these, Quick, Merrell is phasing this model type out October 10, 2012
Great Shoes, with some issues.... I purchased my first pair last September for a hiking trip, the trip was cancelled, but I really liked these shoes, comfort, look, etc. However after a couple of months of sporadic use, the rubber portion that attaches to the front of the shoe to the top began becoming unglued. I returned it to Dick's and picked up another pair, after less than a month the left shoe started having the same issues, returned to the store and ordered it on-line. Unfortunately, those shoes never arrived and I was given a store credit, I just really wanted those shoes. July 14, 2012
last chance to own a great shoe For some reason Merrell has stopped making this shoe, I bought 3 pair and should be good for 4 years. They really are great and the replacement shoe they put out are not even close. If this is your size buy them. June 30, 2012
My third pair. Very comfortable shoes, when I wear them these old knees hurt less. I love them. I'm on my third pair, and will buy another pair if they are still available. July 20, 2011
These are a MUST Have! This is a great shoe! They are extremely comfortable and my favorite is that they slip on. I think they are a little pricey though. March 27, 2011
