Rated 5 out of 5 by Me no fall If you like broken bones, dont buy these
By far, the BEST ice walker item I have ever had. Simply put, these STOP you from sliding on ice, and allow a normal gait and speed in icy conditions. Caveat is I don't challenge these by walking uphill on Mount Everest, BUT, my hilly area where I walk on sidewalks and street, I am very confident I wont fall wearing these.

This is an inexpensive solution to slippery surfaces that totally works. I have had one for years and just got another to give to my kid going to college. Now I don't have to worry about him taking a spill.

I have had several significant fractures and snow terrifies me. This purchase is my third pair of Yak Trax because I want one in my car, one in my house and one at my job. This way I will never be caught slipping on snow again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by mlrodge I think the headling is spot on.
The night I went into Dick's Sporting Goods the sales person showed me the yaktrax and another pair that he perfered because he ice fishes. I was unsure about the yaktrax but I took them because I wasn't going to be walking on lakes, I didn't think I needed any spikes. The sales person didn't even really know much about the yaktrax. The first night I wore them I was truly impressed. Normally, as I walk my dog with snow or ice on the sidewalks I walk with my body and legs stright, tense, and my feet flat to keep from slipping on the black ice under the snow. I was really impressed from that first night I put them on. I walked with a normal step, didn't slip, and felt very comfortable walking. I couldn't understand why there hadn't been any advirtising as far as I knew about them. I believe if more people knew about them more people would have them. They are also pretty easy to slip on and off. I marked excellent for quality even thought I haven't worn them much. I'm interested to see how long they will last. The quality has been excellent thus far.

These are absolutely great. Just bought my second pair! Won't go through a winter without them. Provides sure footing when shoveling, snow blowing or simply walking the dog. I would also recommend these for senior citizens to prevent winter falls on ice or snow. They're very cool too! Pair them with a North Face jacket, Oakley sunglasses and u r looking fine!

I was so impressed by this product that I recommended it to many coworkers. I even sent a glowing letter to the company. The bad part, one pair broke on the third day... I assume I did something wrong... I use the same shoes at the gym, as I do on my evening walks. So, I was taking them off and putting them back on twice a day. I bought a pair for a friend the same day, and hers are still fine.
I will get anther pair, the security you feel wearing these in the ice and snow is unbelievable!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by Jfa This product fell apart
The grax fell apart on me. I walk on concert and trails that are paved. After using the grad for 2 weeks they fell apart. On the left foot it fell off one night as I was out for my nightly walk. At the same time the one the right foot lost it's front part and is no longer working. I walk between 6 to 8 miles each day. One problem is they say not to wear the grax on concert but there ice on the concert and it is not possible to carry the grax until you need them because by the time you realize you need them you are in the ice and probably have fallen.

Great for walking the dog and walking on ice. We have a small pond in our back yard, and it's impossible to get it ready for skating without using these. Sure grip on the ice lets us remove branches and test thickness without breaking our necks. Recommended them to others who bought them for dog walking and they loved them. Be careful not to wear them on floors in your home, however - the instructions say this - follow them - they become way too slippery on concrete, linoleum, or wood flooring.
