Customer Reviews:

Rated 5 out of 5 by 5 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great value for the price I was looking for an insulated jacket with a durable shell and a somewhat subdued color. At the store my choice came down to a patterned gray Spyder jacket and this Gerry in black. While the $200 Spyder was more stylish, the $100 (at a discount) Gerry was noticeably warmer. I tried both by layering each on top of my fleece like the way I would dress in winter. The Thinsulate-lined Spyder was warm, but the Gerry was toasty. The gray color pattern on the Spyder was really nice, but the Gerry had a triangular ripstop pattern built into the fabric itself, which was rather neat when you observe it up close. This barely noticeable ripstop feature marked it as a quality jacket and separated it from its basic Wal-Mart counterparts. The external storm flap indicated a jacket designed for adverse conditions, not just your average winter commute. Like the twice pricier Spyder it had breathable waterproof fabric. My wife liked the more fitted cut of the Gerry better, the Spyder had somewhat roomier arms that made it look more sloppy, so the choice was easy. I have a medium slightly short build (5'8 165lb size 30 pants) and the S size fit perfectly even when doubled with a fleece jacket. The arms were long enough to cover my wrists with elbows bent, but not too long to cover my knuckles with arms straight on the side. The fact that I fit into the small size meant the jacket was on the roomier side --as my shirts are all medium sized-- but that's to be expected of a serious winter jacket designed for layering. Features not shown on the picture and in the description: - Sealed seams - Fleece-lined collar and wrist to prevent irritation. - Hood with a stiff visor that keeps it upright. - Internal storm flap from the chest up. - Horizontal quilting similar to down jackets on the inside. - Internal flap pocket on the right side with a hole for headphone cable. I honestly think this jacket is worth its MSRP price with all the features offered; at close to 40% discount it's a great bang for your buck. October 19, 2014

Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Jacket I bought this jacket for my trip to DC and was amazed at how comfortable and warm this jacket kept me even in snow. The insulation is great. Great for cold weather but once you get inside to some warmth, take it off because it will make you sweat. Looking to buy one for my parents for this winter season. October 17, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great jacket for a great price I recently purchased this jacket from the website after checking it out in the store. The store was selling it for $160 but online it was $99.99 + another discount if you spend over $100. If this had a North Face emblem on it the jacket would easily be $200+. The styling is great as is the material (I got it in the gravel color). The interior is nice and soft. Though I haven't worn it yet in the cold winter months I can tell you it's not bulky but very warm. The description doesn't say that the hood comes off but it does through a button and zipper process. And the fleece around the collar, sleeves and bottom of the jacket is soft and will keep more warmth in. I have been looking for a new winter jacket for years and would highly recommend this based on quality and price. September 30, 2014
