Rated 5 out of 5 by Great for at home gyms I'm an avid gym goer but decided to do at home workouts when I don't have time to make it to the gym. Bought the Powerblocks and love them. Easy to change between weights during sets and easy to store. Sturdy design so you don't have to be super careful when using them. August 22, 2016
Rated 3 out of 5 by Not Good For Big Hands The two large tubes in the bottom of the dumbells can cause discomfort if you have large hands. My thumb gets caught on one and my middle finger knuckle bashes into the other one during various exercises like curls or presses. I also thought changing weights would be much faster but during P90X, I found myself getting frustrated trying to poke the four prongs into the correct holes. To be fair, I wasn't using these with a stand so I believe it would be easier to line them up quickly if they were elevated rather than trying to do it while they were on the floor. I tried removing the worst offending tube that hit my thumb by unscrewing the ends but found a rusty piece of steel inside which is part of the weight. They still held together just fine without this piece but the balance was affected after I removed it. I wound up returning them to Dick's and buying the Core Fitness set for $100 more. The Core Fitness dumbbells are stupid fast to change. You never even take your hands off the weights but merely re-rack them for a split second and twist the handle. I also tried the Bowflex model in the store before settling on the Core Fitness set as I found the Bowflex length to be quite excessive and cumbersome. While doing military presses with them I thought the ends were going to hit me in the head at times and you have to twist both ends of both weights to change them. The Power Blocks were much better than the Bowflex in this regard since they are very compact, and I would guess they would take about the same time or less to change if you have them on a rack. If you have smaller hands, The PowerBlocks definitely beat the Bowflex. However, the Core Fitness blows them both away as they are the most like actual gym dumbbell sets in regard to size and balance. And their ingenious twisting weight selection is insanely fast for the quick transitions required in some exercise video's. Drop sets are no problem. Some will complain that 50 lbs is not enough. If you are doing standard weight workouts with long rest periods in between then I would agree. I have stopped using heavy weight due to the toll it has taken on my joints over the years. I have been using the Core Fitness 4 to 5 times a week now for over a month and absolutely have no complaints. They seem to be very high quality. If you have large hands, I would head to Dick's in person and try the Power Blocks before you buy. November 30, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Take care of them, and they will last We have had a set of "Power Block Dumbbells" (The Same Set) since you could only get them at special Equipment shops, and pay 900.00 dollars for them (We Did,These go up to 90lbs) They have preformed Flawlessly. We have never replaced them and they get used quite a lot. I'm not saying you can drop them but...sometimes it happens, and we have never had a problem. (Don't make it a habit, you're not at some gym, you're in your home) I would buy them again, and I would recommend them to anyone looking for Adjustable Dumbbells. I hope this helps you. Rated 4 out of 5 by Perfect for small home gym I really like these dumbells! I have a small gym in my basement and didn't have room for a bunch of dumbells and the associated rack. I saw these in the store but they only had a display model so the store clerk ordered them online for me and they were delivered the next week. They are simple to use and there are only a few parts so there is less to worry about than with other adjustable weights. Plus they are small and compact which makes using them easy. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because you have to be careful not to hit them together or drop them from more than 5 inches. Excellent product otherwise. August 6, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by These are excellent. Im glad I got these. Require little space, effective, and ease of use. They're the better of their kind. Along with my Bowflex 5.1 bench, I have all I need for a well rounded gym that can be stuck in a corner in a ten sq ft space. Boom!!! Highly recommend this brand's set. June 29, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Buy These I was a bit skeptical with these versus the Bowflex version but as luck would have it, when I went in to buy the Bowflex version they only had the floor model to sale and someone had already bought them. So I went with these and they came straight out of the box new. The ease of use of these dumbbells and the quick change weight load is absolutely awesome. I also bought the matching stand as well and it is a nice cleat setup. I definitely recommend these! June 25, 2015

Rated 5 out of 5 by The PowerBlock Classic 50 I purchased the PowerBlock Classic 50lb Adjustable Dumbbell Set about two weeks ago, from Dick's Sporting Goods. I went to the Fort Wayne store, and made sure that this is what I really wanted to purchase. The price tag was hefty, but keep in mind, that this set replaces 9 sets of dumbells! This feature, along with ease of use, and minimal storage, was essential to my workout goals. I am able to do all of my exercises, comfortably. I would also like to thank the store employee...he was very knowledgeable about ordering my dumbbells with stand, and having them sent to my home. I received them about three days later. May 7, 2015
