Rated 3.7 out of 5 by 35 reviewers.
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great for the price It is quality construction and just right for my son who is just starting Boy Scouts. It is a little big, but it worked great for his first campout. Large enough to hold all his gear, extra straps to attach more gear and fairly light weight. Only downside is there are no pockets on the belt strap and not a pocket in front to organize some smaller gear. He is excited about it! March 25, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by This product has great features I ordered the backpack and it arrived sooner than they said. It is roomy enough for every thing I need for a long backpacking trip. it's comfortable to walk with and I will recommend it to anyone. March 10, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great Pack I've had this for about for years now but i no longer use it. I used this pack from hiking to 4-5 day summer camp and it worked great for a long periods of time. The seam started to rip and olnly got larger so im planning on getting a different pack now. But it is still a great pack for the money and there is a lot of space. February 1, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great Entry Level Pack I purchased by pack in 2008 and have had absolutely no issues with the durability. It has stood up to quite a beating and was comfortable carrying as much as 45 lbs and on some trips over 15 miles. The bag has a compartment for everything and allows me to separate my gear for easy access. There are also additional tie downs that allow you to secure additional items to the top or bottom. Built in rainfly is a great bonus and works well. As I mentioned though I feel this is an entry level pack. If you are just getting into backpacking, this pack lets you minimize your investment (rainfly alone is worth $30). For those people trying to figure out how to use this bag consider the following: 1) The zipper compartment on the bottom is great for a sleeping bag. 2) Snap straps outside of this lower compartment usually for attaching tent or roll pad. 3) Top compartment is ideal for items you need quick access to (ie sunglasses, headlamp, maps, etc) August 27, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Got the job done I have been dreaming of walking the Appalachian trail for about 10 years. Knowing I won't be able to do the whole thing, I wanted to start doing small sections. I bought this backpack based on the price since it was my first ever backpack and I didn't know if I would even like backpacking that much. We did the 41 miles in Maryland in June and this pack was great! I had it a little heavy, as being a newbie to the sport, about 35 pounds, but had no issues whatsoever with the pack. Straps were easy to adjust, plenty of room inside and out for all my gear. Easy to get on and off, and easy to adjust once it was on my back. If I were to do a thru-hike, I would probably upgrade this pack, but for four to seven day section hikes, it was great and gets the job done. Highly recommend this as a first pack or for short overnight hiking trips. August 26, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by storage like the 65liter storage capacity.has the room for all that i need for extended stays outdoors.comfortable straps also a plus. July 23, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Good fit Hoping for a durable back pack for my Philmont High Adventure Trek. July 9, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Strap Broke OK pack, using the side pouches makes the pack extremely wide. Also need longer straps in center of back. Barely enough length to fit over Zmat. Additionally the right shoulder strap separated and made the pack unusable. Luckily I was at Uncle Johnny's the next day and the rep from Granite Gear repaired the pack. (No Charge) He also sewed several other areas where the stitching was coming loose. The rain cover was too small to cover anything else but the pack. Unusable when I strapped on a Zmat and foam mat. This is a great weekend pack, but not really designed for extended time on the trail. I had it only 5 weeks and it was coming apart. June 5, 2013
