Swim shorts NOT good for swimming!
The "belt" is made of elastic, and there is no drawstring, so keeping these shorts on your body while diving into a pool, sitting in a river, or swimming in the ocean will have to be done by holding onto them with your hands. HORRIBLE design...because you can't swim in them. I had a pair of these years ago that were a different design (real belt AND a drawstring) and I LOVED them. I am SO DISSAPPOINTED that they have changed these shorts so that they no longer function as swim shorts...so dissappointed. I've been looking for weeks now and cannot find a product that will do the job.

Columbia shorts
Used them to explore and swim in St. Maarten. They were very durable, but netting was a ittle tight. Overall good.

Meets my needs
I am training for skydiving. The zippered pockets allow you to take your vehicle key and other small important things that you don't want to leave in your vehicle. They are light weight but made well and very comfortable.

These shorts suit my needs.
I was looking for a apir of shorts to take on my Bowhunt to Namibia, Africa. These should work-out well as I like that they are very light and will dry-off fast. They have many pockets that I like, with a zipper for better security should I need to ford a river or just go swimming. No zipper in front. They feel very cool, light and confortable and I like the materials feel. Nice!

Great Swim Short
They keep upgrading each year but you can "new and improved" something too much. Lost the string tie now, bad move Columbia. Just have a belt thing to tighten instead

Great fishing shorts
I already had one of these and really find them a great pair so I purchased 2 more while they were on sale. My wife couldn't find a pair to go fishing in a women's style (not enough pockets, and impractical), so she bought the same pair and cut out the mesh. She loves them. Columbia should make a more practical shorts for the sports woman. We mostly use these shorts for fishing due to the pockets and the quick dry for when we want to cool off from the hot florida weather.
