Rated 5 out of 5 by Nice workout mat Great mat for a P90X workout. Has just the right amount of support needed when placed on a cement (tiled) basement floor. When first purchased it is a bit slippery but will wear over time so it is not so slippery. I had to buy a non slip carpet pad to go under it as the mat moved when jumping from side to side during plyometrics. Once I put the pad under it, I had no more problems with slippage. I definitely recommend this as an excercise mat for all forms of crosstraining, yoga, P90X or Insanity workout. August 27, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Nice overall. I purchased several of these cases at varying times for my basement gym. Upon installation I noticed that some squares were larger/smaller or not cut exactly the same way. The interlocks would not line up on all pieces. Frustrating to say the least. Need to buy more packages to find the ones that work together. Lots of trial and error. I assume these tiles are cut using computers and can not understand why they vary so much. Other then that issue, the mats seem durable and are comfortable on the feet. Just plan to buy a lot of packages, use the ones that match, and return the others. November 7, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Not professional grade, but easier to handle I bought two sets of these for a cage and bench, and they are lightweight and fit together nicely. With only 2 weeks of use, they are already denting in spots where I leave bar bells, but the depression is minimal and not impacting the overall function. So, in summary, they are not as heavy or durable as single piece professional grade gym mats, but they are a heck of a lot easier to handle and should be fine for a home gym. July 2, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good product, seems kind of pricey.... I bought a bunch of this to put in my garage gym. Since it's all interlocking, you can get as much as you want and it will all fit together nicely. One of my complaints is that I had to go around a couple of corners, and when you do that the edging pieces don't fit right and you have to cut a little piece off. I'm hesitant to do that since if I move someday or have to rearrange my gym area, I'll end up with some pieces that have a little chunk cut out. Anyway, that's not as big a deal as my other complaint, which is that these things seem kind of pricey.... $50 for 4x6 feet of coverage area. When you're talking about a gym, even a small home gym, 4x6 is nothing unless you just plan on doing yoga or body weight stuff. When you start adding weights and bench or a squat rack and other equipment, the amount of flooring you need adds up quick. I had to get $250 worth of this stuff to cover my whole floor, which really isn't that big of a space. I still have to move my bench around in-between exercises to accommodate my workout. I mean, it looks nice, and so far it's working great, but still.... $250 just seems like a lot of money for what you get. I could see paying half that for what I got, but who knows; maybe this stuff will last for years and I'll really get my money's worth. The good thing is this stuff is sturdy and supportive enough while you're lifting heavy weights, and yet it's comfortable enough for when you're down on the floor doing pushups or stretching or whatever. In a nutshell, I really recommend this flooring if you can afford it. It looks nice and professional, and so far is holding up nicely. May 21, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love the mats Very happy with the mats. I put 6 of them together for my fitness center to use for aerobics and work out videos. They snapped together very nicely and took all of about 10 minutes. They stay in place on my high/low carpet over concrete floor, They have great cushion for our legs and feet during our workouts. Rated 1 out of 5 by Does not fit together Bought two sets of these(at the same time) to match the two sets i already have, and they did not fit together, within the set or with other sets. The new sets didn't match the existing or each other. Not to mention they two different thicknesses, both were 3/4", same as the existing, but were closer to 5/8". All in all a solid mat, would recommend if you're willing to take back multiple times to get a set that fits together. Looks like I'm not the only one either. Would be nice if Dicks sent us some replacements. February 19, 2012
Rated 2 out of 5 by Ok..... Cushioning is great under the feet! However, not sure how to keep them from slipping. Every time I get going I'm slipping left and right.... Need more gripping power. May 21, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent product Perfect for what I needed, not soft so you stick and break your ankle, not to hard so you can't go barefoot, it's perfect, I use it under my bench and smith machine for squats, and I use it for my cable crossover machine, I also have some set up so I can train my martial arts on, I wish my whole gym was floored by these March 26, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Exactly what I was looking for I remodeled a 7' x 14' room in my house to make it a dedicated workout room (weights, kettle bells and medicine balls--no machines or benches). I do P90X and P90X2 and this is exactly the stability I needed. The pieces are connected over existing carpet. I purchased two sets of the 24 sq. ft. pieces a week apart and at different Dick's locations and they fit together perfectly. The surfaces were slighly slippery in the beginning but this goes away after a few weeks of use. Excellent cushion for plyometrics and easy on the knees for floorwork and stretching. July 16, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Good Product I bought this cause I didn't want to sweat on the carpet anymore, plus my knees were getting achy. It is really easy to put together. I do Insanity Max 30 using this mat. The 24' square feet is a good start. I would suggest that if you can to get more than one package (as I will). I highly recommend it. Yes there is a "smell" when you open it. I just turned on the fan in the room, sprayed a bunch of Febreeze and did that for a couple of hours, eventually the "smell" went away. Overall, I say this is a great buy. January 29, 2015
