Rated 4.2 out of 5 by 112 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Kayak! I'm new to kayaking and wanted one that was easy to handle and had some storage space and this kayak has both those features. I feel completely confident when getting in and out of this kayak as it is so very stable in the water. Tracks nice too. Was well worth the price I paid for it. July 9, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Fusion 124 I am new to the sport of kayaking, a wheelchair user and bought the wrong boat the first time around. I knew nothing and found a "sit on top" used. Now if I had wanted something for fast water or surf it would have been a great buy, but I want to do more then spin in circles and try to stay upright. I was lucky not to get dunked but my son was not as lucky. Very disappointed. Went home and started doing some research, lots of it. Found a highly rated, budget fishing kayak at Dicks web site, they said they had it in stock so off I go to Dicks. I get there and they are sold out of the model I wanted. Another disappointment. I spoke to the salesman and asked if he had personal experience with the lower priced kayaks and he said that he had used several of the cheaper boats and personally liked the Fusion 124 above all the others, not only that he also told me that one of the guys in the northern store had several and was buying 2 more. Well, I have just returned from a week long camping and paddling trip. I could not be happier with my kayak. I used a stadium cushion for a bit better seat, it tracked well, had a surprisingly long glide despite its width and was so stable I was blown away. The only thing I am not crazy about it the fact that is is a bright yellow, so very visible! Although my husband likes that part. It has been christened "Nana's Banana" Because of my disability there are lots of things I can no longer do, (long distance biking, cross country running, climbing, horse riding) this kayak allows me to recover some of that free feeling I lost when I injured my spine. Its been a long time. July 8, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Nice stable kayak for the money. I purchased 3 of these kayaks on sale and have been very happy with them. I have kayaked before but consider myself a novice. They are very stable and the larger opening makes it easy to get in and out of without banging your knees. If I want to keep stuff dry I will purchase some dry bags. Been on a large river and small lake on a breezy day and the boat handled nicely. Seat could be cushier but then again it is not an $800 kayak and after 3 hours of paddling I was fine. Myself (a 5'5" 145lb woman) and two teenager daughters can easily load and unload the boats as they are not very heavy. So far nothing has broken but I will worry about that when the time comes. Good intro. kayak for the money. July 8, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Love the boat, hate the company Great entry level boat, stable, easily maneuvered, cheap, durable. I've had it for 4 years and scratched plenty of rocks and it's still going. Although recently a small stress fracture appeared on the bottom where the seat meets the hull. I don't really hold that against the boat, it's been years and I've been hard on it. So I contacted the company to explore options for fixing it..... That leads me to the next part of the review: Future Beach, as a company however gets the 1 star. Over the years I have attempted to contact them regarding accessories and other questions and have never gotten a response. never. You fill out the contact us page on their website and get an automated response saying they will get back to you and simply never do. Call and no matter what department you dial to, an automated message simply says voicemail is full and hangs up on you. During business hours. It's incredible, over years and several attempts (and this is mostly regarding accessories, ie, to spend more money) I have never reached a single person. So, if you buy it, hope you have the luck I did with it holding up, because they are never going to help you. June 24, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by The Best Value for your money! I've had this kayak from Dick's for the last four years. My sister's family has two of the same, my brother's has three, my bro-in-law's has four. All from Dick's and all the exact same fusion kayak. They are absolutely the best we've ever owned! I can't recommend them any more highly than the fact that my family should own stock in them! I'm in the market for another one as soon as they go on sale. These kayaks are great for all ages! May 27, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Kayak for the price I own 3 these now and we all love them. They do get a tad uncomfortable after hours on the water but so doesn't my more expensive one. Great for beginners. Flat bottom so very hard to tip. my 13 year old, 18 year old and my husband love them. Def. recommended to any future kayaks. May 27, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great for a beginner like me! My husband and I bought 2 from Dicks, and we LOVE them! We are first time Kayakers and had never done it before. We put them in the water and it was awesome! They are very easy to get in and out of, glides smoothly through the water and so easy to paddle. I was even able to take my dog on the Kayak with me! They were on sale for only $199. Great product for the price, especially for a beginner who is just getting in to Kayaking for fun and leisure. May 25, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Terrible. We bought these on sale at Dick's and tried them out yesterday. The reviews were mostly good so we figured it would be a good first kayak. We've rented before so we're used to better quality. When I got in the kayak, the first thing I noticed was how LOW it sat in the water. Then I noticed how uncomfortable the seat and cockpit are, and how hard it is to adjust the foot pegs when you're in the water. My back was killing me after five minutes. The tracking was bad, it required a lot of correcting to keep it straight. And my husbands compartment lid wasn't tied on and fell off. I felt like if I leaned one way too far, water would get in it (I'm not too heavy, that's not the issue). I'm glad it was in slow moving water, since I think if we were anywhere with wakes or waves, it would be over. Dick's was great about the return, though. We'll be saving up for some better quality kayaks. It seems like you need to look for something around $800 and up. May 23, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Tracts we'll, bad seat. The kayak works really well in the water. Everything about the kayak was great up until yesterday, I noticed that the back rest on the seat had cracked off. The back rest is still attached with the adjustment straps but now I have to prop it up before I get into the kayak. I've used this kayak 7 times as of now, thought it would've lasted longer.
