Rated 5 out of 5 by Great kayak for beginners! Originally was looking at a Pelican, two piece molded and ending up going with this one. I bought one of these for my 9 year old son and one for myself. We love it. Easy to move, stays pretty straight, comfortable. I've been in around an hour each time and no problems with the seat being uncomfortable. It does ride a little low, but not a problem unless you are at the max weight capacity. Stability is great. Wish the back storage was separate from front to avoid water getting in there, but we just use a waterproof storage box for keys and money. I think it's a great value (when it's on sale). Rated 5 out of 5 by Great kayak for the $$ This kayak has been used and abused in the 2 years since I purchased it. My only gripe is the plastic tabs to hold the elastic storage lines on the bow have bent a little, I'll probably replace them with metal. Got it at 40+ percent off, wouldn't have spent $350, but for the sale price of under $200 I'll pick up another when they become available. June 24, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Very FUN, STABLE Kayaks We bought 4 of these Kayaks in 2011 (Red, Yellow, Orange & Blue). It was the same sale back then, 349.00 down to 199.00. We use them all the time along with our 2 Canoes and Paddleboat. We love taking other families out on the lake, so when I found out there were new colors, and that these were on sale again, we jumped at the chance to get a few more. In addition to the first 4 colors, we now have Radiant Orchid (Pink), Buffalo Lime (Green), and 2 Sea Blue (Light Blue). These Kayaks track very well, have plenty of leg room and are very very stable in the water. The only thing they lack is a really good seat. We use extra 1" thick cushions from Dicks for the bottom and back as needed for comfort. Our 1st 4 had a dry well that was only 3-4 inches deep, the new ones open up to the entire back of the kayak behind the seat, which we love, but stuff can get wet back there if the kayak takes on any water, so bring a plastic bag to keep your beach towel dry. We love these Kayaks, and look fwd to getting 8 people out on the lake now !! June 24, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Outstanding value in Rec Kayaks I've had mine for about a month now & have paddled 40 river miles & spent dozens of hours on the local lake. I think this is hands down the best kayak you can get for under $200 (when it's on sale...) One of the best parts is that it actually fits taller folks. At 6'5", I trade back and forth as to whether I want the foot rests in the furthest forward position or one notch back. Very few other boats in this size fit tall guys off the rack. Carry handles aren't fancy, but are plenty strong enough for the boat. Some side carry handles with paddle park bungees might be nice, but the deck bungee will hold your paddle just fine as it is. Another great part that I didn't really appreciate until I watched some other paddlers capsize on some fast water in tight spaces, is that the rear cargo area is mostly closed off by the bucket seat, so you can drop in a pelican or plano dry box with your wallet & keys and not worry about the dry box finding its way out of the boat in a tip over. The water in the boat will run tip to tip though, so find some dry bags for whatever you want to actually stay dry. Minor nit-picks - the back rest is terrible, but a $10 piece of memory foam cut to size & stuffed inside the existing back rest cover has made it plenty comfortable enough for a 5 hr. paddle. By then, the rest of you is so sore, the back rest fades by comparison. Contrary to other reports, it turns very easy (2-3 sweeping paddle strokes spins it 180 degrees around), but is still very easy to maintain a straight track across the lake. I've added a 4" hatch & cat bag behind the seat on one side and a flush mount rod holder on the other. Like this, it'll do overnight trips, river runs, local fishing, or whatever you have in mind. Sooner or later your paddling style will become more clear and you may find yourself looking for a more specialized boat, but for getting started on a budget, with a few mods, this boat will get you out on the water doing whatever you have in mind. Also, the Seals splash deck size X works great on this yak. June 13, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by I like this kayak This is my first kayak and I'm new to kayaking but I really like the Future Beach Fusion. I did a lot of research before I settled on this one and it looks like all my work paid off. I picked it up at Dick's Sporting Goods about a month ago and got out on the water the other day with it. We hit a lake and did about a two hour ride. The seat and back support was comfortable and the foot peddles are easy to adjust. That's important to me because I have chronic back and leg pain. But this yak was so comfortable that I hardly noticed the time go by. It rides Smooth and straight. The hull design kept me stable. I leaned a little to far to the side one time and took on water, but I had no fear of tipping over. I plan on using this kayak for a long time. However my youngest so, who has a sit on kayak, really likes mine. I might hand it down to him in a few years, but for know it's all mine. June 12, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Future Beach Fusion 10 Kayak Great kayak, I have outfitted it with anchor mounts and fishing poll holder. Tracks well in the river and in calm water. Takes the bumps well and has held up to some minor ruff waters. Very balanced. Purchased a second one June 11, 2016
Rated 3 out of 5 by Kayak Nice low end kayak for the price. Lightweight. Tracks well. But the right foot peg will not stay put after adjustment without helping it by sticking my hand down there and pushing on the the locking mechanism. Works fine once in place, just a little annoying. June 11, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Kayak for the money!!! This is first purchased Kayak, I have used others that I've rented, and this is by far the best one I've used yet...!!! Perfect for the occasional novice Kayaker...!!! June 10, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Excellent for beginner Obviously an open water kayak due to its slow turning. It fits me well and I am over six feet tall. Seat is slightly uncomfortable but you'll get over it. Storage cubby is not independent from the kayak chamber so any water in the chamber will get on whatever is in the cubby. I loved it though! June 10, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great recreational kayak We are recreational kayakers on lakes, so this model works great for us - in fact, it's our second one. It's stable, sleek and responsive for what we need in a kayak. Our kids (young teens) and parents are able to use this and love it as well. We watched for Dick's sale, and got one ASAP since they move fast. The one criticism is the hatch: it's actually open to the cockpit, so any water that gets in will get anything you put in the hatch wet. We learned this the hard way. Not sure why this design - i emailed the company that question and received no answer. June 9, 2016
