Rated 5 out of 5áby Way better than expected. Impulse buy a couple weeks ago because my canoe is heavy and the slightest of winds pushes it all around when solo. I spend more time correcting and less time fishing when I'm in my canoe. (With 2 people it's fine) Having owned yaks 3 times the cost I must say I am impressed with the Eagle Run. It's pretty comfy and there is enough room for me. (I'm 6ft4 250) it tracks great, is fairly fast, a moderate breeze does not effect it much because you are lower and closer to the water. The best part loading and unloading, it is lighter than any canoe/yak I've owned. The first time I took it out fishing on the lake I did get caught in some adverse conditions. A storm rolled in wind picked up and there were whitecaps. I must say I was quite nervous and I hat to work to get back to the launch, but the boat handled it well. The backrest is great, I'm able to spend hrs on it. This yak is way better than the Talon. Faster, more stable and WAY more comfortable! While I wouldn't take it in white water, or off the beach (it's not made for it) I wouldn't hesitate to fish inland salt water, or on rivers most anywhere. There is not a ton of room to keep alot of stuff within reach, but I like that. You can remove the hatch and keep a crate/cooler on the back, and tackle in the cockpit. I'm liking it more and more every time I go out in it. April 13, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5áby Excellent Kayak First of all I had three compliments on the kayak before I even left the store while it was on the floor at checkout. I purchased the lime green camouflage. It is a beautiful well made kayak and with a unique pattern. The features are endless. It doesn't come with a paddle but I got one from amazon prime for $35. I live in the Puget Sound Region so this is the perfect kayak, being that it has a cockpit to protect you from any waves. It tracks very fast, is stable and easy to control. You couldn't ask for more storage. You have storage underneath the bow and stern as well as above both of them with deck rigging, then you have a removable storage bin which floats and you can tow behind you for extra space and it has a waterproof rubber gasket to keep water out. Also a drain plug, two cup holders, padded seat and backrest, paddle holders, rod holders. I am so impressed and I am so happy with my purchase. April 10, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5áby the adjustable backrest, cup holders and rod holders are great. This kayak handles great on the river were I do the majority of my fishing The seat is very comfortable and the cockpit affords a lot of room and I would recommend it for those of us who are not small men or women. Rated 4 out of 5áby The right kayak for me! I was looking for a 12' kayak that would track well and be light enough to launch from my sailboat. This kayak is a little heavier than I originally searched for - but it has worked out very well. We use a sling line and the main halyard to launch two kayaks from our boat and that works like a charm. I have some limits to my flexibility so the large cockpit makes the getting in and out much easier. It tracks very well on flat water and is easy to paddle. Windy and wavy conditions are more challenging but the stability is rock solid (and staying out of the water is a good thing). Have done some fishing and don't like the location of the rod holders as it is hard for me to reach the rods mounted behind me. Fishing is easy though and again - the stability is appreciated. The seat is surprisingly comfortable but I don;t spend long days in it. Great kayak for the money! March 24, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5áby New to Kayaking I am brand new to kayaking and first bought a cheaper boat from future beach. Being 6' and 270, the boat just didn't sit in the water correctly and it had holes in the seam. I returned that yak and with the help of the excellent staff at the Dick's in my town, found this gem. I took it out the next day and was very pleased! With the 500 lb capacity I felt as though I was acutally on top of the water instead of being an inch from sinking lol. The wind was high and it caused some big waves but this boat took it all in stride! I would highly recommend this yak to anyone and when friends ask what to get I will always tell them to try mine out. The one thing about this boat is getting used to how narrow it was compared to my old boat, which caused it to be a little less stable (10 mins on the water and I got my bearings.) I think that if I bought it first I wouldn't have had a problem. Other than that I really look forward to my next outings with this yak! March 17, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5áby Hard core! Love my new Field and Stream Eagle Run! It is built extremely Durable all around. The shell is very thick plastic and looks almost impenetrable. March 17, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5áby great kayak Perfect for the rivers I fish.Tracks straight, easy to handle, comfortable, paddling is a breeze when I'm trying to get from spot to spot without fatigue. February 23, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5áby Breat for larger people I am 6'4" and 320. Was looking for something with large weight capacity and leg room. This kayak has plenty of room and is easy to maneuver. It is a little heavy but well woorth the tradeoff for comfort and stability. Best of all got on salke at Dicks fit $350. Love it! January 25, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5áby Awesome product Great Kayak, absolutely love it. Plenty of room for a bigger guy like myself, penguins of padding and very comfortable. Love the rodholders they are great for trolling on the lake. tracks straight and true, light enuff to handle by yourself in and out of the water. January 6, 2016
