Rated 4.5 out of 5 by 458 reviewers.
Rated 3 out of 5 by Not perfect. I am pretty new to kayaking and have a couple of sundolphin journey 12 foot sit on tops. I found this one to immediately be a little tippier than I was used to and the front end has a mind of its own. The kayak has great storage and is gorgeous to look at. I added a high back seat to it as a throw in and 5 hours later down a river my back and behind were in great shape so it is a comfortable ride. I wouldn't recommend it to beginners because I tried out my friend's and they are slightly more stable and have better tracking. Someone with some experience will find that they work just fine. Rated 4 out of 5 by Great beginners kayak I bought two of these about 18 months ago when I became interested in kayaking. These are great beginner kayaks. Very stable with a roomy cockpit. IMO this boat is meant to be a day tripper as storage is minimal and pushing the hull through the water for more than three to four hours becomes taxing. Boat tracks straight so no need for a rudder. Have done up to 11 miles with a midway point break with no problem. Seat back adjustment is great. Seat bottom gets a little stiff after about two hours. Fixed that with a foam gardener's kneeling pad from HD or Lowes. As I have found I like kayaking I am moving on to a longer and narrower boat but at 3 times the price as this one. Point is I would have hated to buy the bigger boat first to discover kayaking was not for me. November 26, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Just bought the Eagle Run kayak, and I LOVE IT!!! I just bought the Eagle Run kayak on sale for $427.00. I was looking at getting the Old Town Guide 119 canoe for fishing and hauling all my gear, but Dick's Sporting Goods no longer had the canoe, so I went with this kayak, and I'm glad I did! It has enough storage for my stuff, and it's fairly comfortable. I've heard some complaints about the foot pegs and the seat, but if you're in a kayak long enough, your butt is gonna get sore after a while. (it's a KAYAK, not a sofa!) I took it for it's "maiden voyage" yesterday. The temperature was around 38 degrees, and it tracked very well and was really stable, even in rough water. I didn't fish from it yet...I just couldn't wait to try her out. Overall, I'm happy with my purchase. I've been kayaking for about 25-30 years now so I feel I can make an honest review on this kayak. The hull may not be as thick as other kayaks (I have a Perception Swiftwater 10.5) but if you're careful, and don't drag it around, it should last ya a long time. The weight isn't too bad, so carrying it would be my advice! If you're "on the fence" about buying this kayak, DON'T BE...BUY IT...YOU WONT BE DISAPPOINTED!!! Can't wait to fish out of this thing!!! Rated 1 out of 5 by small cockpit I love me a big cock pit not satisfied :( not good for the north east bad for frozen water. highly recommend not to drink and paddle November 17, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great kayak ! Easy to fish from ,very stable ,enough room for gear ,very easy to paddle doesn't take much to paddle around the lake. Only issue is the seat ,the back rest is fine but after a couple hours my tailbone starts to hurt. Just put a 1 inch foam pad cut out for your tailbone to sit on and it's fine. Or we just get out and stretch once in awhile. Would highly recommend October 5, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Just exactly what I wanted. Excellent in all respects. It is stable in the water and very swift. September 6, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by My first kayak I've read MANY reviews on this specific kayak and am by no means a Profesional or seasoned kayaker, but with that being said I love my kayak! A lot of people say they have had issues with the foot legs, mine seem solid even after 5 long uses, the removable storage is amazing! Yes it's hard to get to when your out, but I always go with somone so we just go side by side and they have easy access! The yak is 60lbs which feels like a bit much, being so long it's easier with 2 people, but one can do it fairly easy. The material is plastic and he's, the bottom does scuff, I drive mine on to the shore when docking and the dozen times I've done it there's minimal scuffing, you would have to hit some concrete or seriously sharp pointed rocks to cause real damage, which if you do, your an idiot lol. I am 6'5" 310lbs and this floats great! I can maneuver very easy and have no problems getting in and out. The seat is a little shorter than I would like for my height, the cup holder on the seat barely passes my fellas. The one thing I wish this had was a better dash, I can't even put a phone up there, and the cup holder barely holds a can, any bump and it will be on me or in the lake. Overall very satisfied for a first kayak, 4 stars just because of the material being a little thinner than I think it should and a failed dash design. September 2, 2016
