Rated 4 out of 5 by Best Bang for your Buck These were a Christmass gift from last year. I did some testing on my 9 acres but I really for a chance to out them through the paces in May durring the Michigan Spring Turkey Season. So lets breake it down by the features FEATURES: Rugged armor coating: The Armor coating is a very durable rubber coating. It helps with gripping the body as well as protecting it. It will protect it from a fall out of a treestand no problem. Waterproof and fogproof: Waterproof yes up to a certain depth but as a rule i try not to go swimming with them lol. As for the fogproofing? Ehhh not so much. My Dad and I got in our turkey blind about an hour and a half befor sunrise and as the sky got brighter the condensation build up on everyting got thicker. Including the "fogproof" lenses. It wasnt horrible but it was enought to keep me from identifying a Jake vs a Tom at a distance over 100 yards High clarity and light transmission: These do have Great clarity and light transmission. I will note though that compared to other brands like Nikon or Vortex they did have a very slight yellow tint but not enugh to want to return them and when you dont have a second pare to comopare them to you probly wont even notice. BaK-4 prisms and Multi-Coated lenses: There are 2 differnt Bak-4 type prisms. The Schott AG Bak-4 prism which is named for the creator of the Bak-4 system and the generic Chinese Bak-4 prism. Im reasonably sure these are the Chinese Bak-4 based on the price. As for the multi-coated lenses? Well what does that mean? The package states these binos are Fully Multi-Coated, but it doesnt state how many coats. The reason? There is no industry standard on what Fully Multi-Coated means. Does that mean the more coates the better? No. A good high quality applied 2 coat set will have better clarity the a porly coated rushed 4 coat set. So take ANY brands clame of Full/Muliy-Coated clame with a grain of sault and let your eyes be the judge Binocular case: The Binocular case is just that a case to put your Binos in and carry them adound. The case has a neck strap that can be removed or a belt loop. In the field i prefee the belt loop but eather way the case is well constructed. Carrying strap: There is a second neck starp for the binos them selfs if you dont want to use the case. It come with a rear set of eyepiece covers that attach directly to the strap. Again this is well constructed. Twist-up eyecups: They do what they say the Twist-up (away from the main body) to help set for the individual confort lvl of the person useing them Field & Stream: The Brand/Manufacture. Field & Stream is the Dicks Sporting Goods In Store Brand. Generaly theu contract an outside company to make their product for them and judging by the build quality and overall design Nikon made these for Dicks. These are a great Set for the price and quality. If i had the choice of these vs a pair of Zise, Leupold, Nikon or these i can say it would be a tough choice becauae these can hold there own. Rated 4 out of 5 by nice binoculars Great binoculars for the price. Bought a second pair for my dad. I still hunt deer often and they really help me pick apart the brush. Nice and clear, only drawback is the are a little heavy. December 24, 2014
