Rated 4.1 out of 5 by 9 reviewers.
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good taste for a ten minute meal We have just returned to hiking longer stretches and found the meals have improved from what we remember years ago, it is not homemade but tastes good on the trail or in a pinch. May 7, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Stick to the ribs disaster chow. Good to go. Bug Out Bags, disater supplies, hunting, camping, whatever. Great taste and easy to prepare, just need 2cp's of water. Will keep these on hand for any apocalyptic events. October 16, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Tastes like homemade Love it! It's easy to make and taste's great. Even my 12 yr. old son, who's a very picky eater, wanted a second helping, he even ate all the vegies. Quick cook time, took longer to get the stove lit and water to boil. October 17, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by tasty I cant believe how much mountain house has improved since the last I had one several years ago. We took several flavors on a remote hunt and I thought I would have to force feed myself, But after the first one I was looking forward to eating dinner every night, after several dinners I ran out of meals before I ran out of taste. Very recommended. October 16, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by very tasty easy to prepare but one should let it sit an extra minute or two. August 21, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Better than expected! I used this product while hiking for the first time. It was very easy to make (add boiling water, stir, wait) and clean up! The taste was better than anticipated as well. May 7, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by A nice meal at the end of a long day Quick and easy when your legs are spent from a long day of hiking the AT. Just bring the water to a boil and let the pouch take care of the rest. Easy clean up too! May 7, 2012
Rated 2 out of 5 by After 12 miles in rain, stew drizzled. This was my first time to try the Mountain House Beef Stew and I really was looking forward to a hearty meal. My hike for the day was 12 miles with the first 11 miles in heavy rain. Breakfast dry oatmeal. Lunch, peanut butter on a pita. Dinner was supposed to be great. It even stopped raining. I followed the directions and the plethora of vegetables were still hard. Adding more hot water didn't help, it just made the sauce too thin. I had planned not to share the meal for 2 and I was glad I did not. I ate a pita loaf after finishing the stew just to satisfy my hunger. I am looking forward to trying other Mountain House products but I will pass on the Beef Stew, even in expected cold hikes. April 23, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by verry good i really enjoyed this. it had just the right amount of food to keep me full all nite and had nice sized chunks of beef in it. it was easy to prepare, just one full poland spring water bottle amount of water and your good ( boiling water of course). it has so far been the only mountain house ill take because i like it that much. all of the flavors are there, nothing that is tastless and bland. the chunks of potato are a nice touch. great work mountain house!
