The Ol' Classic
I love these 33's! I usually buy one just to keep in the main tackle bag. When all else fails, this one always pleases. If you have guests or kids with you, the 33 is easy and reliable. The platinum is the way to go. It is a little more expensive, but it will last and it feels like the ones from the "good ol' days." Feels solid, works great!

Good reel
This is a smooth and dependable reel. Some of the reviews mention the line getting twisted but here's a newsflash... lines get twisted on all fishing reels. You just need to know how to untangle it. You don't return your spinning reel when the line tangles do you? My suggestion would be to remove the Cajun Red line this reel comes with and replace it with a quality line of your choice.

Ok but over rated
I am on my second Zebco 33 platinum and it is now broken. Internal gears stripped on one and cast button broke on the other. I made one good one out of two bad ones. Dont spend the extra money on this one and instead just get the regular Zebco 33 model or the Zebco 33 Titanium. I Cant find those any more but the Omega Z03 looks like a nice pick.

Had one for years
It does tangle a little but nothing that cant be fixed easily, this is a great reel for beginners and I recommend the combo if you can find it.

Not the best
I have owned 3 of these reels. My second one lasted a while, but just a few days ago the line got tangles inside the reel while I was casting somehow and I was unable to untangle it. So I bought another one and within 10 minutes of use it did the same thing. If you do buy this i recommend buying the 1 year warranty with it.
