AWESOME Bag...great value!!! I really was looking for this style bag at first, but the price point and quality made me want to have it. Tons of storage pockets, great build, super light compared to the other packs I was looking at (Northface Recon, Osprey, etc.). In the end, the value for what you get sold me on this bag. I saved about $30-40 compared to the brands and didnt sacrifice too much. April 23, 2013
Perfect Bag I needed a bag to take on the plane. It fit under the seat and I was able to access it. The bag was completely full with items I could use on the many flights I took. I used every pocket and still had some room left. The zippers worked great and the daypack was easy to carry. Strong and Durable. April 17, 2013
Marmot Gunnison Daypack This day pack is for hiking. The pockets help organize needed items easily. The pack fits well when loaded. Very happy with a new pack even when I really liked the old one. This time change was good. March 26, 2013
Great Backpack I purchased this backpack to use for traveling and day hikes. I've used it for one trip so far and it is great. There are so many pockets you can keep everything separated and easily accessible - except I have to get used to where I put everything. It's much lighter than other packs with so many pockets and so much room. Only downside is that the computer hold-down strap is too short to fit over my computer and attach to the pocket. Love it! Bought this backpack for my first Cacun trip. Since I need I needed a backspace rather than a tote back it was perfect. I was able to fit, an extra outfit, sunblock, tanning oil, my camera and other items. Has lots of pockets and a laptop section. March 12, 2013
Good all around bag Had a gift card and after wandering around the store trying to find something to purchase the bags caught my eye. I travel weekly for work almost always carry my items the office in a backpack. I had been using a UA bag, which was getting worn after a couple a years of daily use and I figured why not when upgrade. After checking out all the bags this Marmot back seemed to satisfy everything I was looking for: 1) Separate compartment for the laptop 2) Lots of other compartments to keep all of my items separate 3) Stylish 4) Compaction Straps. The compaction straps are a MUST especially when trying to get it in smaller overhead bins on airplanes and stashing it under seats. So far the past few weeks of travel I've been nothing but impressed and it seems super durable. Once it warms up I'm looking forward to taking it on day hikes in lieu of my 48L REI bag. It'll be perfect for some quick day backpacking trips, Maybe workout for an overnighter if the packing light. March 5, 2013
Best Bag Ever Best bag I've ever owned. Only missing a hydration port and then it'd be perfection. I also wish it came in a women's fit, as the chest strap would be a hard fit on a bustier person and I find I often have the shoulder straps cinched as short as they'll go. This is my day bag, my luggage, my hiking bag - it's everything I could ever want. February 27, 2013
Marmot Gunnsion Backpack Review The Marmot Gunnison Backpack is my EveryDayCarry a.k.a. EDC. This backpack is great for just about everything. There are 8 zip compartments that each can carry an array of things. Basically let me just tell you what all I carry; In the very back zip compartment there is a padded laptop sleeve that will probably fit up to a 17' laptop. Which is great for laptops and the cords, and two or three college rule notebooks. The second the back zip compartment has an elastic pouch which is great for a small pair of shoes, a change of clothes, a handgun or more books. The third from back multi-purpose zip compartment has 2 velcro pouches and one zip pocket inside. In this part I have: 8-10 pens, two watches, flashlight#1 pouch#, a couple patches, phone charging cable and plug, pouch full of coins, a Schrader multi-tool pliers#2 pouch#, and in the zip pocket, I have: a victorinox swiss card, two case knives, some personal identification, a passport, a jump drive, stamps, matches, and a business card case. Some times I put my wallet in here and my keys. The fourth zip compartment from the back #or on the very top# it will hold a pair of sunglasses and their case and also has a padded place for a cellphone. The middle zip compartment has a stiff see through mesh sleeve for money, cards, and is for my benefit to use just to through what ever I need in there and a zippo lighter, chapstick. The very bottom-most zip compartment is big enough for what ever you'd like. I use this to carry a North Face Base Camp travel canister which holds: 2 tooth brushes, 2 travel size tooth paste containers, a few q-tips, a travel size shaving cream, 2 razors, a travel size Wet Ones pack, deoderant, curel lotion, aspirin, floss, and two travel size 3oz. containers, a hep of different size band-aids, a mirror, and some floss picks. There are also two zip copmpartments located one on each side. They are big enough also to carry deoderant, body spray, clif bars and can drinks. For the $75 I payed for this it has been well worth it. Hope this helps; God bless! February 25, 2013
Four years in... I've had the orange version of this daypack since March 2009. I purchased it a few weeks before a trip in to NYC to carry most of my tech, essentials, and a change (or three) of clothes. Four years later, I'm still using this backpack . With a padded compartment in back perfect for a 13"-14" laptop, plus another large pocket, the top pockets... I mean, I could go on about how many pockets there are and how perfect they can be for my use. I mean, I wouldn't say it's the roomiest backpack around, but I fit a 14 inch business laptop from 2007, two pairs of jeans, chargers for said laptop + cell phone and ipod, as well as sunglasses (The outermost top pocket is split and has PADDING! HOW GREAT IS THAT?) a pair of speakers (each .5L in volume)... I could go on and on about how much I can fit in it, but that wouldn't do the built in compression straps justice- if you travel light, you can simply clip the clips and pull tight, instead of having an awkward, empty bag. My only caveat would be to check the zippers- I lost one of the pull-strings because the spacing is pretty wide open on one side of the hole. That's the only thing, though. So go ahead, spend that $50- you won't regret it. January 26, 2013
Awesome backpack. It was a gift to my husband. He loves it, it's a very sturdy backpack and there is so many compartments to keep things organized. Got it in sale but it well worth the full price for it. January 8, 2013
