why would you not get one?
If you have never heard of this reel, then you have never really fished. I have had the same shimano baitrunner for twenty years, without servicing it, and it still gets it done. Every other reel on the market is trying to be this reel. The only real baitrunner out there. Got this new one, and guess what.......fights like a champ. Dont be foolish. If you need a reel and you have the money, this is it.

Great feature
Used it on the surf, bait fishing. Free spooling was a great option, just set the desired drag. Worked real well. Just used it so will see how durable it is over time.

Well worth the cost
Wanted a reel that I could use for carp fishing. The Shimano Baitrunner was a great choice. It works well with the style of fishing I am currently using. It is very easy to set up and the freespool system works well.

The best EVER!!!
This reel is by far the best fishing reel i have ever owned. In my 20+ years of fishing this one gets the job done. It has the baitrunner so you can let the fish cruise with the bait before setting it and reeling them in.. GREAT!!!
