Rated 5 out of 5 by Ranger great tent Over th past 30+ years I've used every size Timberline. I currently own a 2-man and will be buying a 4-man this summer. (The 2-man is great for one person, the 4-man for 2 people and gear.# The time-tested design means I can quickly set up or take down by myself, these tents are EASY. They stay dry in sideways rain. They pack down to a reasonable size and weight #I often camp out of boats and canoes#. The "Outfitter Series" #they still call them that?) are well worth the extra money for the significantly increased durability and weather protection, but casual campers can get by with the base model. A wonderful tent for the money, I recommend highly. July 14, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by JM37 Good roomy tent for price Listed as 4 person but really a 3. Good ventilation but floor is not a bathtub, so it needs to be kept zippered up tightly even in light drizzle. You'll want to purchase some stronger stakes for the tent separately (kelty no bend for example). You can use the stakes Eureka provides to stake out the tent at the corners and six stronger stakes to stake out the rain fly and guy lines. June 3, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by MassivRuss This classic tent is great. I've had this tent for 30 years. It's indestructible. The name is 4 person, but it is for two comfortably. June 19, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Midwest Value TBD Hard to pass up the deal - the tent was about on sale for approximately 45% of list price. The floor is a very thin, 75 denier polyester with an 800mm-rated waterproof coating. Our group currently uses Timberline tents that are identical except they have a thicker floor with a 1200mm waterproof rating and list price ~50% higher than this model. Hopefully a tarp both under and on the floor will provide adequate waterproofing and floor fabric protection. Did not notice Timberline's typical high-low vent arrangement on this model despite the manual's assurance that all Timberline tents have high-low vents. The metal clips that attach the fly to the tent body are now plastic. Timberline 4 tents are terrific 2-person tents if you do not mind the weight. Eureka quality and customer service, in my experience, have been very good. If you are set on buying a Timberline 4 for yourself, and plan on taking care of it, I would recommend buying a more rugged version if you can afford it. the ratings above are based upon past performance of similar Timberline 4 tents and the hope that these tents, though they seem a little less sturdy, hold up over time. Rated 5 out of 5 by 30YearOwner I have had my 4man tent for over 30 years. I have used my 4man timberline for over 30 years. Not only in the sumer, but at least 2, 3 or 4 day trips to Crater Lake OR. It takes a rugged and durable tent to handle those 40 below 0 nights on the Pacific Crest trail around Crater Lake in the winter time. We camp cook, warm up and dry out every night. In the summer I take my cameras and take pictures of the dear an the elk and bears playing. I have never had a failure even in 40 mile winds and waking up with a foot of snow on top. Only one word of caution, tace a CO detector with you in rough weather, and if you are going to cook and warm up. I am no w 50 years old and have seen more of the backwoods of OR in my timberline 4 man tent than most people dream of. And with good luck I have another 20 years to go. Thanks for an exceptional product. November 12, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by OddTheViking Rock Solid tent This is the classic A-frame style tent Boy Scouts have been using for decades. There is a reason they still make them. These are rock solid, can withstand high winds and blowing rain, and will last a lifetime. On top of all that, this is a tent one person can put up or take down by themselves, in the dark, in five minutes. October 30, 2012

Rated 5 out of 5 by Oysterpot This is one good tent I purchased my Eureka Timberline 4 tent in 1976. I was camping from a motorcycle at that time. We quit using the tent regularly in the late 80's, and started using a pop up camper. We gave the tent to my daughter and her family who used it for about 5 years. They were rougher on the tent than I was. I retrieved the tent in 2000, and have used it for scouts, (grandson was a cub scout) and am now using it again since I can't afford to pull my travel trailer long distances. This tent through all its use, abuse, storage etc. is still water proof, has a few tiny holes in fly from sparks, but nothing you see out of. All the securing devices are intact. Have replaced stakes, and going to replace shock cords in poles, but other wise steady as she goes. I absolutely love this tent, and so does my golden retriever who camps with me. Oh yes I sleep on a slumberjack style cot and there is plenty of room. This tent has exceeded all my expectations. June 23, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Tank love this tent An excellent tent that has been around for decades. I first used a 4 man Timberline in the early 1980s. It is easy to set up, durable, and holds up well in the wind. Superior ventilation and water resistance. All aspects that hold true to the one I just purchased. The optional vestibule provides the additional room that takes this tent into the superior value range. Highly recommend the 4 man tent. December 3, 2010
