Future Beach Trophy 126 Kayak 4.4 5 101 101
Good buy This is my first personal kayak and I am very pleased. It is a very stable craft and tracks as strait as an arrow. The only reason I did not give it a great rating is there is no additional floatation such as foam in the event you get it swamped. I have been kayaking using a buddies kayak for about 2 years and this one is hands down much better than his pelican. Great for fishing or just a lake pleasure craft. May 28, 2013
Great kayak for fishing lakes and ponds As others have stated, this kayak is a great value. The main necessities for fishing are already there, with 2 flush-mount rod holders being key. The only downside I've experienced so far was that the front carry handle came loose and I lost the screw. Easily and cheaply replaced the screw. I use the rear carry handle as an attachment point for a line between my kayak and my young son's for when he gets tired of paddling. I've added paddle clips to the side, an extra rod holder to my left-front, as well as a portable fish-finder. The only other problem now is that my kids are mad that they don't have the same kayak. Great Value Cheap Boat This is a perfect starter boat, but also a decent fishing boat for rivers. It'd be good for fishing flatwater too as long as you aren't planning on paddling all day. The foot rests break really easily (they're cheap plastic) but they're also cheap and easy to replace. I have two of these as beater boats to loan out to friends when we go for a river run, and on one I totally pulled the footrests and have an inflatable bag to shove up front instead. The bulkheads work well, not watertight but good enough for a $300 boat. Slow boat on flatwater but what do you expect from a dihedral hull? This is a perfect beginner boat for kickin around or fishing. The Pelican Potomac handles better but has a lower weight limit, and no factory rod-holders as far as I know. I have both and love them both- the Potomac is a bit faster and maneuvers better, but the Trophy has more features. Another great feature about the newer Trohpy's is the dihedral hull- it's much more durable than the older ones with a central keel (they had a problem with holes underneath the seat if overloaded). You lose a bit of speed and tracking but these boats are bullet proof, which is more important in the long run. Awesome starter boat, fishing platform, or river beater. April 13, 2013

good buy my cousin has two they are the best fishing kayak I have been in for the money only worry is landing big fish i have caught big bass and haven't tipped but, i want to go pike fishing in it but landing a 15-20 pike may be a challenge, I'm getting one this summer. but start selling automatics again February 14, 2013
Great buy!!! Anyone who says this company does not back up their warrenty is foolish. These are the best entry level kayaks I have found and their product support is top notch.....I will be buying at least two more this year. December 9, 2012
Very versatile I bought this kayak 6 months ago. Since then I've been down the chattahoochee river multiple times, paddled different lakes and even took it into the Atlantic Ocean. It has handled everything I've thrown at it. My only con is the foam separator between the seat and the back hatch isn't watertight, or anything close to it. But with some caulk and sound proofing spray it's as close as its going to get. November 18, 2012
Awesome Kayak worth every penny! This Kayak is amazing and awesome for multiple reasons. 1.) It allows Independance, IF you want to go fishing and kayaking solo, this kayak is lightweight enough to transport, load/unload, and even lift by yourself. 2.) It is Stable. - When I was paddling out in the middle of the lake, I didn't worry about rolling or tipping over. 3.) It steers Straight- It's easy to paddle 4.) Dual Storage- Will deffinitely come in handy for my kayaking excursions, whether it be using one for my valuables and one for say bait and tackle, or for when I go with my friends and need room for some drinks and snacks. All in ALL, this Trophy Kayak exclusively sold at Dick's Sporting Goods, is a great Investment!! November 11, 2012
Good kayak from a trusted company First of all, I like the kayak. It's not the fastest thing in the world, but it's really stable and is maneuverable enough to take down a river with some light rapids. It tracks pretty well and is relatively comfortable (at least for a couple of hours). The bulkhead storage in the back is great, but some seemed to be better sealed than others. I don't think they advertise it to be water-tight or even have a bulkhead, but there is one in mine and it is 98% sealed off. With a little additional marine sealant, I'd feel pretty comfortable that water won't be getting in. Second, I now love the manufacturer. There are companies that will go above and beyond to be accountable for their product and Future Beach has added themselves to my list of such companies. When I first sat in the kayak and tried to tighten the seat strap, the plastic buckle broke. A quick message on the Future Beach warranty web page and they sent out a new seat back (which comes with the plastic buckles) along with 2 additional replacement buckles that were stronger (made of metal). To me, it was their way of saying, "sorry, but at least you won't have that problem ever again!" Will buy Future Beach again. My next purchase will probably be a kayak that is a little faster, as I rarely use this one for fishing (though I wanted to be able to). For the price at Dicks, and with the amenities (bulkhead storage, rod holders, etc), it's really hard to beat this kayak and that's why I bought it. September 20, 2012
Amazing kayak I use it in the bay in small rivers and small lakes. It does really well in all. I fish a lot it is very comfortable. August 31, 2012
