The honeymoon is over
My husband and I bought two Perception Angler Caster almost two years ago and they were great, we had a lot of fun with them - They do and always have held water, we do sit in a puddle of water but that was not an issue - we're in bathing suits anyway... But now all the handles are desintergrating and we're having a hard time getting replacements. I've tried going back to Dick's but they don't carry replacement parts. I purchased "generic" ones online, but they don't fit correctly. Perception is taking forever to respond...these babies were way too expensive to be throw-aways.. Just wanted to vent.
thanks for listening.

Its Greeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeatttttt! - Seriously
First off, I wrote another review below, prior to taking my boat out. Well I've taken it out on at least 10 different excursions since. It handles excellent and has almost everything you need. I am a 6'0-165 lbs Male, and let me say this boat is perfect. Not sure about the guy that said it filled up with water, but my guess is your weight is bringing in the water. I can also stand up and paddle in this kayak as long as the water is calm. Honestly I've taken it out in February and we barely got our feet wet, but still made my own scupper plugs with noodle material and a lighter, FYI, youtube it!
The only cons I must say it has is the drink holder isn't as good as it can be. Otherwise I'm looking forward to taking it out to Crab Island in Destin, FL soon!
Anybody use the Eagle Talon sit on top 12'? I'm curious as to how this feels versus this Kayak. I really would just by a second Perception Sport Angler, however I want something a little different and do not like the alternative Sand color, and was a toss up last year between the Eagle Talon and Perception Sport Angler. This year I may go with the Eagle Talon for my second boat.

Not happy with my purchase... Please Read Honest Review
Perception usually make good kayaks, but this kayak was poorly done. Hatches had to be sealed with sealant. The kayak sits so low that the kayak is always filled with water. When I used scupper plugs it helps a little, but since the kayak sits so low, when I lean to make a sharper turn water comes over the side. The seat area sits too low as well, you will be constantly be sitting in a pool of water. Its nots so bad in the summer, but I fish in the winter as well and had to buy a wetsuit to compensate for the wet ride. Also had to buy a new kayak seat since the seat that comes with it is tiny and Im not that tall. Went on an all day fishing trip and my back was killing me after wards. I should have forked out a little more money and got a different kayak. I spent 150 on wet suit and 150 on kayak seat....So I could have got a much better kayak with that money.
Honestly I feel that the other reviewers are just in denial of how bad of a product this is. It hurt to admit that this was a bad purchase.

Great kayak
My wife and I purchased two of these kayaks. We have used them twice now. The good things are they track straight and are stable. The bad is that if you weigh near 200 lbs water will fill the area where your legs are. There are two small storage areas with screw on type of caps. These caps are not water proof and water will seep into the hullof the boat. I purchased the scupper plugs to prevent this. Overall these are good boats. I like the fishing rod holders and their locations. The boat has plenty of on top storage.

Perception Sport Angler Kayak
We purchased two Perception Angler Kayaks from our local Dick's Sporting Goods Store. They did not have them in stock, but were very helpful in ordering them for us, helped with the arrangements to have them delivered to the store. An all round good experience. We took the Kayaks to Lake Lure, NC in June, used them four days to fish and paddle. They handled well, stable, easy to fish from and manuever. They are light enough that we can load on car rack with little effort. The scupper holes in the seat area fill with water up to the seat. Used plugs for the lake, will not plug in streams. Plan to use them extensively around West Virginia to fish and enjoy the outdoors. Also taking them to Fort Myers, FL for the same purpose. Very happy with them.

Good boat for the money
I have had a few kayaks to compare with this one. Overall it's a really good boat. It is a wet ride though, being that the sides are not very high, and it rides low in the water. Scupper plugs are a must!! It came with all the accessories I would have added anyway. That is a big plus. Smart locations for rod holders.

Better Than Antisipated
Only out once on it but was extremly happy. It is very stable too, was able to swing legs over side and have a bite to eat and drink and swing legs back into paddle position like nothing. Was able to get kayak into and out of truck alone without overexerting myself. Had to paddle harder goung through some choppy water but I guess that is to be expected. Gonna get scupper plugs, not alot of water but would like to keep it a little dryer. Also addded a pad for seat bottom so I was very confortable even after 2 hrs. Dry container behind seat is kinda a waste.

Excellent Yak!
Just bought this Kayak today during Dick's Sporting Goods Memorial Day Sale, going on all week. I haven't taken this boat out yet, however I have 3 friends with last years model, and loved it the couple times I traded out with theirs. Great Tracking, Stability, weight for size, Storage Compartments and Rod Holder placements. My only complaint is there is no Cup Holder in this newer edition. However that is probably the easiest modification that one can make. Open up the Dicks credit card and save an additional 10% as well. All in All, I was recommended this by my buddies and would do the same for anyone else.

Great kayak for the money
Kayak tracks is decent. Can be a wet ride if you dont plug the scupper holes. The seat that comes with kayak is comfortable and the kayak is stable. All in all great kayak for the money.
