For the money (at sale price its a really good deal) I was impressed with the clarity, the dawn and dust viewing is a little weak. its my first scope with the BDC recticle, not very fond of the bubbles now that I've had a chance to use it. all in all a good scope. I'ts on a model 7 so its a nice match. I will slurge and upgrade (VX-3) for my 220 swift.

Rated 5 out of 5 by 300 WSM Worth the Money
I bought this over 3 years ago. Ive used Bushnell, Simons, Leupold and others. Next to Leupold, it is the best scope I've ever had. I wanted a scope with drop compensating reticle and when I first started shooting this scope I wasn't happy with the circle, opposed to lines. After some time, I came to love it more than simple lines. You literally have three points of reference compared to one line. You can use the top of a circle, center, or lower half.
I have a 300 WSM so I use the 4.5-14 and it shoots wonderfully at long distances.
The scope also features "quick to center" dials. Once you've zeroed the scope, loosen the screws on both dials, pull up the adjuster and center to has mark, then tighten the screws back down. Then you can check your scope prior to shooting to see if you knocked it off center, or if you've adjusted for a long shot, you can re-center.
Yesterday I shot 1/2 groups at 200yds, and 2 1/2 groups at 300. The only variable was me, not the gun or scope.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Tennessee Moonshiner 1st Impressions
This is my 1st Nikon. Picked this scope up several Days ago. After reading about DOZENS of scopes and win/fail problems. I decided to give this one a try after viewing a Youtube demonstration. I am NOT disappointed. I mounted it on my Seekins base attached to a Remington 700 .308. Lapped the Burris XTR rings in, lock-tighted the screws and took it out for a zero and test. After zeroing it. I did a stack-shot @ 100yds. .3 MOA. Went to the 200 yd. Dropped it right in the bullseye using the 1st circle. Then to 300. It grouped at 1" low on the bullseye using Remington Hog Hammer ammo. I haven't gone beyond that yet, but if it holds this pattern, it will do everything it says it will. BEAUTIFUL GLASS!! This one gets a pass on 1st Impression not at all unlike my former wives.

I have used Nikon scopes before and had one on a Weatherby .270 Mag. I was very pleased in its performance and ease of sighting in. It only took a few small adjustments and I was hitting my target and within a 2 inch diameter at 100 yards. I do hope this new scope will give me the same performance.

I have now put Nikon scopes on all my hunting long guns. they just don't give problems. I own three buck master 4.5 x 14sf scopes. they are great any time of the day. being a hunter who prefers the late hunt, these scopes have let me take deer that I would have otherwise passed on. light gathering is excellent.
what can I say, I am a Nikon fan for sure

Rated 5 out of 5 by Redneck SWEET SCOPE
I bought this and plopped it on top of my 10/22 target. Older one, so nicer ;) I can shoot 25 rds in the same hole with that scope at 40 yrds. backing it out to 100, the pattern opens up to about the size of a golf ball.
I also have one of these on my .243 win. I hand load for that rifle so I get very consistent tight groups. But the scope helps! I can shoot out to 300 easy with that rifle and BDC.
This scope has the best eye relief of most I have tried. I don't have to crowd. Light transmission is great too. I have made countless early morning and dusk shots accurately with that scope.
I have heard of people having issues with these, but let me tell you. It is not the scope. It is the user. If you improperly mount these, like with any scope, there will be issues.
Make sure your base, mount, rings everything is straight and tight. Torque your screws the same, especially in the rings so your scope does not get pulled to one side.
These are BASICS for ANY scope.
My only issue is the eye piece that you can use for quick adjustments, the rubber on it sometimes will start to slip off, so I just pop it back on. No big deal.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Fret Bender Perfect scope in features, quality and price
I purchased this scope for my Weatherby Vanguard SII in .279 Winchester. I sighted in at 50 yards and then moved to 1200 yards and zeroed things in. The images were clear and sharop and I was able to hold my groups to sub-MOA at 100 yards with plain, factory ammo. On subsequent trips to the range the scope stayed true to zero and the BDC reticle was absolutely a dream at ranges out to 600 yards. The information from the "Spot On" program was, well, spot on. I have used much more expensive units in the military and law enforcement, but none have performed any better than this unit. I would recommend this scope to anyone looking for an excellent unit in a great price range.
