DON?T BUY ? Not waterproof as package describes
We tried to use this for our trip, it rained and leaked through the cover on the top and through the bottom. Less than ½ way (approx 500 miles) it was no longer usable. The lining shred, everything inside was wet. It says water proof on the packaging but it is NOT! I will be returning it this week. I do not recommend it!!

Cargoloc deluxe roof top carrier
I was a little skeptical when I purchased this item after all for 39.99 how good would it hold up? but to my surpise, it got the job done. I packed an 05 mountaineer from top to bottom until I could get no more stuff in the truck, then I packed the carrier with two overstuffed duffel bags, 6 trash bags full of clothes and a shoe carrier filled with shoes and a brief case.
Everything stayed intact. I was quite pleased. The carrier preformed well and the price was great. I perfer this soft carrier over the hard top kind because its flexible and you can shift items around to make them fit securely.
Make sure you follow directions and secure the straps and tuck them under so they dont because a noise problem. After that you are good to go. I travelled over 800 miles with the carrier and everytime i stopped for gas, I checked it and everything was fine.

Worked OK for the money
We wished we had a hard top, but since we spent all our money on a giant tent, this worked out alright. We managed to put all the camping gear on top of the van (tent, sleeping bags, chairs, stove, gas, etc), so we had room for the luggage and kids inside. Good value. Downside, it's not waterproof, it can't lock, and it's a bit of a hassle to strap on.

Rooftop Cargo Carrier
We used this roof top carrier on our trip to Florida over our fall break. We traveled from Indiana to Orlando. The carrier worked perfect for our needs, just the right amount of storage space and easy to get on and get off.

Not Very Strong Material
We loaded regular canvas duffle bags into the cargo carrier and the wind worn through the material on the front part. It was worn so bad that we had to put duct tape inside to prevent it from ripping all the way through. We estimate that we might get a couple more uses out of it before it will be unusable even with duct tape.

Not a bad item
Honestly looking at the picture we thought it would have been much larger but we did manage to get in quite a few items that kept us from being squashed on our trip to VT. We don't have side rails but held tight to the front and back cargo bars regardless. We got POURED on along the way as well and kept our stuff dry.

Good product
Great car top carrier for the price. Make sure extra slack from flaps are tied tight otherwise they make lots of noise.
